Are flu jabs suitable for you? Before getting flu immunisation ensure you read up, double-check and understand if you should or shouldn't do it. This year's inoculation includes the Swine flu vaccine too.
NHS advice for: Who SHOULD have the flu jab

NHS advice for: Who SHOULDN'T have the flu jab

Can you get it free? Now check if you're eligible for one from your surgery (although as surgeries have limited supplies, aimed at the most vulnerable, don't push trying to get a free one if you're not eligible).
Even if you're not entitled to a free jab, but are able to pay for one privately, as stocks are prioritised there's no certainty you'll get one from your doctor.
Free flu jabs are available if you:
are 65 or over
live in a residential care home
have diabetes
are being treated for cancer
have lowered immunity due to HIV or steroid medication
have a long term (chronic) condition, such as liver or kidney disease
work closely with poultry
are the main carere for an elderly or disabled person
are a healthcare or social care professional
If you're still in doubt, double check with your GP or nurse.
