Odeon Premiere Reward Card
How to get free Odeon tickets
If you’re a keen ODEON-goer, the cinema’s new Première Club reward scheme is definitely worth a butchers (see participating cinemas). The scheme gives 10 points for every £1 you spend, and you can spend the points on tickets and cinema grub.

How good the scheme is depends on where you live, but works out at roughly one free ticket for every eight to 14 purchased.

Yet never pick your cinema based on the reward scheme. If you’re going midweek, try Orange Wed 2for1, and use the Days Out deals note to scout out free & cheap screenings.

How it works

Odeon Première card holders accumulate 10 points for every full £1 spent. You can earn points on Orange Wed tickets, but only on the paid-for ticket, not the freebie.

Points can then be spent as follows:

  • Standard seat ticket: 800 points
  • Small soft drinks: 300 points
  • Small sweet or salted popcorn: 400 points

How much are points worth?

Generally, spending points on tickets beats food. Now, assuming you’re spending points on tickets, how good the scheme is depends on where you live. The more expensive the tickets are in your area, the better the scheme is for you.

As an example, in London, this works out as one free ticket for every eight bought (normal ticket cost £10). Yet in Hull it’s one free for every 14 bought (normal ticket cost £6).

If you’re a couple or a family and buy food when you visit, obviously points will rack up more quickly.

Step 1. Pick the right sign up package

Unlike most reward schemes, you have to pay to join. Even though this seems right cheeky, you do get free points and you only pay once, so it’s not too bad.

Unfortunately the different joining options are harder to fathom than a David Lynch movie. There are three membership classes, and you get different amounts of free introductory points depending which you pick:

  • Classic £2: 100 free points
  • Deluxe. £5: 500 free points
  • Ultimate. £10: 1000 points and double points for the first month

Choosing the right membership

Now, the membership option you should pick varies according to how much tickets cost down your local cinema. The more expensive your tickets at your Odeon, the higher membership you should opt for.

As an example, for Londoners, 1 point is worth 1.3p, so it’s worth paying £10 for the 1000 points, as you’ll make around £3 profit. But if you’re in Hull, a point’s only worth 0.75p, so you’ll make a £2.50 loss; you’d be better off going for the £2 option.

First go to Odeon.co.uk and check the price for your local cinema. Then use this chart to see how much you can gain (based on spending the points on tickets).

Also note that if you Ultimate, £9.99, membership, you also get double points for the first month, so if you’re planning caning it for the first month, it might be worth looking into.

Step 2. Pick up your card

Next time you’re at an Odeon, just ask for a membership pack and tell them which membership package you would like to apply for.

Then you pay and the assistant, who will swipe it so you get points that day.

Step 3. Register your card

You must, must register your card at Odeon.co.uk within 28 days of joining or you will lose your introductory points. Introductory points cannot be redeemed during the 3 days after the day you joined the club.
