Online Outlet Shopping Clearance deals from M&S, Argos, Tesco, Net-A-Porter, and many more

If you love a bargain, chances are outlet shops are nothing new to you. Outlets are special stores operated by big brands to sell last season’s goods at clearance rates – and now they’re moving online – M&S, Argos, Amazon, Net-A-Porter and more, so we’ve collected them together.
In the real world outlet shops are often a bit ramshackle, with chaotic, car boot sale appeal that makes you feel as though it's a great deal, even when it's not. Online it's easier to combat this, ensure you do a price comparison on tools like the MegaShopBot to ensure it’s a good deal first.
On eBay
The auction site's now one of the key places to find clearance deals from big high street brands. Most brands directly own the eBay shops, but they're run separately so you can't buy online and take returns to high street shops.
A key thing to note is that most only accept PayPal, which means you'll need to set up an account with it if you haven't already, and also that there's no Section 75 protection (See section 75 guide).
Here are our top outlet picks:
Argos Gadgets, electronics, toys and more
Clearance Bargains* is the
web-trading arm of Argos' three bricks & mortar clearance stores, in Corby, Walsall, and Stanley. Some clearance stock can be cheaper in-store, but the range on offer here makes it worth a look.
The vast majority of products it sells are brand new, and where items are refurbished, they're clearly noted. It's also worth checking Argos' in-store Clearance Finder*. Watch out though as some larger items can't be delivered to all postcodes, so call ahead to check first.
Tesco From electricals to bedlinen
A more recent addition to eBay's roster, grocery juggernaut Tesco* is not so far from Argos with its eBay offering, but has more emphasis on homeware.
It sells both new items and customer returns; the store's blurb claims that most of the returns have never been used, but nonetheless all have been inspected, checked, and if necessary, repaired and re-boxed. All refurbished items are clearly marked as such on the site. Unfortunately, you can't collect Tesco ClubCard points via Tesco Outlet.
Schuh Trainers and shoes for men and women
High street shoe store Schuh* offers a decent range on eBay, and what's more, it sells most stock in the auction format, starting at 99p. This makes some uber-bargains possible. If you don't fancy bidding for a bargain, you can also buy the shoes outright.
You can search by shoe size or brand to make life easier. The only sting is the quite steep £5 postage charge, though that is for up to ten pairs of shoes...
Office Focus on smarter shoes
Similar to Schuh above, Office* errs more towards the smart shoes, including some on its eBay clearance store that have never graced its physical shops.
Soletrader More shoes!
Another shoe outlet, SoleTrader*'s eBay store offers some brands the others miss, and also kids' shoes from last season. Again there's more emphasis on formal footwear.
Littlewoods Mostly clothes, but nigh on everything else too
Catalogue retailer Littlewoods* is run by the same people who manage its 15 clearance high street outlets across the UK. It offers a wide range of stock for men, women, kids and the home.
MandM Direct Cheap fashion brands
Already known for being fairly bargainous, MandM Direct*, the mail-order company, offers some items even cheaper. Some of the stock is quite old, but there's a massive selection, and who can argue with genuine FCUK jeans for £24?
Superdry Young fashion for men & women
Relative newcomer to the high street, Superdry* sells some own-brand stock on eBay far cheaper than in-store, and some of it's from this year's range too. Especially big discounts are available on seconds stock, but postage isn't particularly cheap.
If you're a new shopper, you can only buy one item - this increases with further purchases.
Dyson Refurbished vacuum cleaners
If cleaning's more your passion or you simply need a new vacuum cleaner, Dyson*, everyone's favourite purveyor of cyclone technology has moved most of its refurb store onto eBay. All the products it sells have been refurbished with entirely new parts, and comes with at least a one year guarantee (two years for upright and cylinder vacuum cleaners though).
Websites
eBay might be slowly cornering the outlet market, but there are still plenty of decent dedicated websites to check out...
New M&S clothes online OUTLET storeUp to 40% off plus 10% more
M&S has just opened up its discounted outlet store prices to web users. Buy online via M&S Outlet and you can get discounts of up to 40% off men's, women's and kid's clothing. Homeware and other M&S ranges are not included in the online outlet.
Payment and delivery for M&S is powered by Amazon. It is fulfilling payment and delivery on M&S's behalf so you'll need to register for an Amazon account. M&S will prompt you to do this if you don't have one.
Although there are some strong bargains to be had, eg, a snake skin print dress for £22.50 (was £45), and Blue Harbour shirt for £12 (was £29.50), forumites have reported that prices are not as strong as sale prices, so if you're after something in particular, you might be better off waiting for a sale.
Extra 10% off and free delivery
Sign up to M&S's Outlet newsletter and you'll be emailed a free 10% off code. The code's valid when you spend £1 or more at the M&S Outlet only, and is not valid with any other codes.
Plus, spend over £30 before Sun 4 Mar and you'll get free delivery (usually £3.50).
You can't return items to M&S stores
It's important to note you can't return items to an M&S store - you must return them by post and cover the postage (though you can get the initial delivery you paid, back see the Delivery Rights guide). Any refunds will also be powered by Amazon but you can see full instructions on the M&S refunds page.
The OutnetPosh women's fashion from Net-A-Porter
If you're into designer clothes and have the budget to match, The Outnet* is worth perusing. Created by the same people as fashion mag favourite Net-A-Porter, it offers clothes and shoes from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo et al.
As you might expect given the names above though, 'discount' here's very much a relative term. The biggest bargains appear in the site's occasional short-term sales, often lasting just a few hours to generate more buzz, so it might be worth signing up to its newsletter to stay informed on these.
ASOSFor men and women, plus regular clearance sales
Asos's outlet offers 'up to 70% off' branded clothes - a fairly meaningless tagline. Yet discounts of around 50% are quite common, and the range is constantly updated, if not often very exciting.
Of course, it's rare for Europe's biggest online fashion store not to be having a giant clearance sale anyway, so check that out while you're there.
Ted Baker Ted's shed outlet store for men, women and kids
Ted Baker* fans might be aware of its dedicated outlet, which is run by the folks at MandM Direct. It sells last season's stock at up to 75% off. There are some top deals on kidswear here too.
TK Maxx Last, last chance clearance items
The bargain hunter's high st. shop par excellence, TK Maxx has now moved some last-ditch clearance stock online. Currently it's mostly handbags and accessories, and just like when you go in-store it's a total lottery, but that's half the fun.
Yoox High end designer fashions
One of the first big online fashion retailers, Yoox* offers stock from a massive number of designers, and from many previous seasons. Much of it is reduced to varying degrees, and there are often designer sample sales too, so while it isn't officially an outlet, it may as well be.
Comet White goods and appliances
Rather than set prices for returned appliances, Comet sells them in auctions on its Clearance Comet site. The bidding process works in the same way as eBay, and most auctions start at £1, making huge savings possible if you catch it at the right time.
There are sections for all the other electronics Comet sells too, but these are currently rather sparsely populated. Hopefully they'll pick up in future.
EBuyer Outlet Computers, components and peripherals
Computing retail giant Ebuyer* has recently started an outlet section on its site. Almost all products featured are ex-display, so some will be in less than perfect condition, and there's generally just one of each item.
In a few cases because stock has grown older since it's been put in the outlet section it's actually cheaper to buy them new, so double check before paying. While many of the savings here aren't huge, Ebuyer's often the cheapest place to buy things.
Humax manager's specials Hard disk Freeview & digital recorders
Widely regarded as the top manufacturer of 'Freeview +' boxes - i.e. the ones you can record free-to-air telly on, Humax sells boxes that have been returned and repaired direct from its website, at discounts of around 30%.
Amazon Clearance deals plus find bargains in seconds
This isn't technically an outlet deal, but Amazon* is currently having a big clearance sale across its whole range. As ever, compare the discounted prices before buying to make sure you're getting a proper bargain.
Find the cheapest in seconds: There's a nifty techie way to make Amazon show you only discounted products, and you can even set the level of discount yourself (i.e . Use our Hidden Bargain Finder Tool to get the cheapest.
Dell Computers and laptops for home and business
The biggest computer manufacturer in the world, Dell* has a specific site section for refurbished products, though shipping costs can be steep when there are no special offers. As Dell's so big there's loads of constantly shifting stock, but you have to order fast; it'll remove items from your basket after 15 mins.
Outlets while great for bargains can be a bit of a nightmare for returns. You may well have to go miles to get your money back. It's worth reading MSE Guy's blog: Outlet store warning
