BBC Store up to £8 off digital purchases
Via TWO separate £4 off discount codes
If you go online to BBC Store* you can get £4 off a purchase of any TV episode, series or bundle when you enter the code SPRING at the checkout. You can then use a second code SPRING2 to get £4 off a second digital purchase.
Both of these codes are valid until 11.59pm on Mon 13 Mar - but you can only use them in separate transactions, so unfortunately you won't be able to get £8 off a single programme.
What's really good about these codes is there's no minimum spend. So, for example, a single episode might only cost £1.89, and with the code it'll be totally free (though of course, any remaining discount from the code won't carry over).
To maximise the discount, look out for anything priced £3.99.
Where do I put the codes?
A text box and 'Apply code' button should appear at the checkout as in the image below.
BBC Store 50% off download-to-keep series
Via code for ONE series/bundle, eg, £4.99 Night Manager
If you go online to BBC Store* you can get 50% off any digital purchase of a TV series, episode or bundle you can't get on iPlayer - generally because it's been more than 30 days since it was first broadcast - which you can either stream or download to watch offline later on.
Simply enter the code SUN50 by 11.59pm on Sun 31 Jul. Before paying, click the 'Use a Promotional Code' button to enter the code (see image below).
The code's only valid on a single purchase of one episode, series or bundle to keep, so if you were planning multiple purchases, use it for the most expensive (where the saving's bigger), and if you want a whole series, buy it as a series, not as individual episodes.
Here are a few examples of what we found using the code on Mon 20 Jun:
- Doctor Foster series 1* - £3.99 (£7.99 pre-code, next cheapest £7.99 at iTunes)
- Peaky Blinders series 1* - £3.99 (£7.99 pre-code, next cheapest £7.99 at iTunes)
- Happy Valley series 2* - £4.99 (£9.99 pre-code, next cheapest £9.99 at iTunes)
- The Night Manager series 1* - £4.99 (£9.99 pre-code, next cheapest £9.99 at iTunes)
- Line of Duty series 3* - £5.49 (£10.99 pre-code, next cheapest £10.99 at iTunes)
- Line of Duty series 1-3 bundle* - £12.49 (£24.99 pre-code, next cheapest £24.99 at HMV)
What is BBC Store?
BBC Store is where you can buy BBC programmes to stream, or download to watch offline. It works just like the free BBC iPlayer, but features programmes older than 30 days. If something you want's been on TV recently, check it's not available on iPlayer for free before buying.
There are recent series such as Line of Duty and The Night Manager on BBC Store, plus much older programmes including The Blue Planet and Dad's Army. There's no monthly subscription - you just pay for each individual episode or series you want to be able to watch. Anything you buy is yours to keep, so you can watch it as many times as you like.
A few of the shows on BBC Store are available to stream elsewhere (eg, Netflix). So if you're already paying for a membership, it's worth checking first. It's also worth remembering, if you're after a very recent series, some episodes may still be available for free via iPlayer.
If you want to download your purchase to watch offline, you'll first need to install the BBC Store Downloader* (available for Windows/Mac computers, smartphones and tablets).
