ExpiredIf you go online to Coca-Cola, you can get a coupon for a free Coca-Cola Zero Sugar (regular, cherry, or lemon), which you can redeem at Tesco or Co-op stores and selected restaurants such as Carluccio's and Slug & Lettuce – see 'More info' below for the full list. You can't get this freebie in Northern Ireland.
When the offer started on Monday 9 September, there were 350,000 coupons available and when we checked on Tuesday 17 September there were 310,000+ remaining. You can claim one until 11.59pm on Monday 30 September, or until all coupons have been claimed, whichever's sooner.
The coupon can be used on a 500ml bottle up to the value of £1.90 at participating supermarkets, or a glass up to £4.04 at participating restaurants – Coca-Cola says no purchase is required. When we checked, a 500ml bottle cost £1.69 at Tesco and £1.90 at Co-op.
How to claim your free Coke Zero
- Visit this Coca-Cola 'Take a Taste' link on your phone. Annoyingly you'll need to give it access to your phone's camera – this is so it can show a frankly pointless augmented reality display where it asks you to put your hand in front of the camera, then 'places' a Coke Zero in your hand – what time-wasting wizardry...
- After that faff, you can then log in or sign up to Coca-Cola with your email address and date of birth.
- Claim your coupon and select your nearest store or restaurant – you can only redeem your freebie there.
Important: Only activate your coupon when you're ready to use it. Once activated, you'll have just one hour to redeem it.
When we tested this deal, it worked as expected for the majority of us but a few people have reported having trouble claiming the coupon where it incorrectly says it's no longer available. This seems to mostly impact some with an iPhone using the Safari browser, so if you're having trouble, try a different browser such as Chrome if you can.

ExpiredIf you go online to Coca-Cola, you can get a free 500ml bottle of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Vanilla or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Cherry until 11.59pm on Sun 29 Aug. You'll just need to sign up with your email address and enter your postcode so that it can locate your nearest participating store (including Co-Op, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Boots, WHSmith, Shell, etc).
Once you've selected the nearest store, you'll only be able to redeem your freebie there. After signing up, you'll be sent an email which will contain a link to access your voucher once you're near your selected store. The T&Cs of the offer say that if your voucher isn't redeemed that day, it won't rollover to the next day – so only sign up to get the voucher on the day that you want to use it. Once you've done all that, and go to swipe to display the voucher, you'll only have one hour to redeem it, so don't do it too early.
There are 25,000 codes to be claimed daily but it might be worth going quick if you're interested as these codes work on a first-come first-served basis. You need to be aged 16 or above.

'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
