EXPIRED – Can you find ‘em? Norwegian Air London to LA flights from £330 rtn (usually about £450 – £550ish)

If the potential of freezing temperatures and snow in January and February isn’t your thing, there are a few super cheap flights to LA for £330 return from London. However, they are going to go quick so get a move on if you want to snap them up. That’s right – Hollywood baby!

Norwegian Air* has flights from London Gatwick to LAX starting at £330 return. It’s a bargain price – if you can find one.

How do I find one?

Right, here’s the lowdown. The cheap tickets are only available from London Gatwick to LAX in January and February. If you click through via this Norwegian Air link*, you’ll be able to see exactly all the flights and how much they are, making it really easy to pick the cheapest ones.

The cheapest ticket I found with this offer was £179 outbound (Wednesday 21 January) and £151.50 for the return flight (Wednesday 28 January), with all taxes included. The offer ends at midnight on Sunday 26 October, so you won’t have long to decide.

Norwegian Air only fly to LAX on Wednesday and Sundays, so don’t waste your time searching for other days.

I reckon even if you don’t live near Gatwick airport, at this price it could be worth buying a train ticket or even an internal flight to come down – depending on where you live of course.

January and February are the coolest months in LA, but let’s face it, it’s a huge improvement on our depressing weather with the average high temperature there being 19C. If you fancy it hotter, LA is a great starting point for an iconic American road trip and San Diego (Disneyland, California anyone?) is within reach. I’ve done it and it’s awesome.

How does it compare?

If you can find these low fares, they’re very competitive. If you look at flight comparison site Skyscanner, you can see that flights to LAX from London airports on the same dates I used for the deal above (Wednesday 21 January – Wednesday 28 January) via other airlines vary between £433 with Air New Zealand and £566 with Virgin Atlantic.

Obviously, these flights are going to go quickly, so make sure when searching you find the best deal possible – full details in our Cheap Flights Guide.

How much are the extras on this deal?

If you’re happy with just taking hand luggage and picking up some sandwiches before you board – you don’t need to pay any extra. But, if you planning on spending some dollars and hitting the January sales while you’re out there, you’re going to have to pay a little bit more.

With Norwegian Air’s low-fare tickets, you’ll get just one piece of hand luggage per passenger (max weight 10kg and size 55 x 40 x 23cm) – here’s some tips on how to pack hand luggage efficiently.

If you’re happy to fork out another £70 for the ‘lowfare+’ option (£35 each way), you’ll get two meals on board, a seat reservation and one piece of checked luggage weighing a maximum of 20kg.
