Orange/EE Wednesdays is due to end on Wed 25 Feb, bringing an end to the mobile network’s 2for1 cinema ticket offer, but if the thought of paying full-price for cinema tickets leaves you Frozen with fear, don’t panic! We’ve Taken the time to let you know about a Great Escape from spending your whole Paycheck on a trip to the pictures.
Who can get the offer?
Vue has announced it will be continuing the 2for1 offer every Wednesday in March for EE and Orange mobile or broadband customers (no word from other cinema chains yet). However, as with the original Orange Wednesdays deal, there’s a trick to getting this even if you’re not an EE or Orange customer. See our Orange/EE Wednesdays guide to find out how.
The offer is available at most Vue cinemas, but excludes Leamington Spa, Gateshead, York and Cramlington.
How do you get the 2for1?
Either text ‘2for1’ and your email address to 51055, or go online to Vue and fill in your details. You’ll be sent a unique code to use when buying tickets online or at the cinema box office. Texts will cost your standard network rate.
The code is valid on standard 2D screenings but you can pay the additional cost to upgrade to a 3D screening or VIP seats. You’ll need to buy tickets on the Wednesday of your visit, as you can’t use this code to buy them in advance.
By applying for the code, you’ll be opting in to be sent marketing emails and texts. Vue says you can opt out of these by texting ‘STOP’ to 51055, which is also charged at your standard network rate.
Before you buy, is it worth it for you?
This usually works out as a pretty good deal if you’re buying two tickets at the same price, as you’re effectively getting 50% off. Remember though, you may be able to save more with other cinema deals, so check our Cheap Cinema Tickets guide first.
