We’ve caught wind of a ‘secret’ furniture sale happening at Homebase* this week. It isn’t being openly advertised and it’s all clearance stock (so when it’s gone, it’s gone), but it looks like there are decent discounts to be had if you’re able to hunt them down.
The official info – what’s happening
Homebase has confirmed there’s a clearance event running, but it hasn’t revealed a set amount of discount, for example, if it’s up to 40%, 50% or even 70% off.
The sale officially starts on Thu 23 Apr, but we’ve spotted a few reductions online already. There’s no voucher or code – the price you see is the price you pay online (and Homebase says it’ll be the same prices in stores as well).
There’s no end date at the moment – it’ll probably just run until everything sells.
How big are the discounts?
From what we’ve seen so far, a lot the items were reduced to begin with – so the ‘was’ price isn’t always that much higher than the ‘now’ price, but the item might originally have been a lot more expensive.
Some of our top picks when we looked online on Tue 21 Apr:
- Fidenza double bed* – £39.93 (was £41.93 reduced from £99)
- St Albans coffee table* – £35.93 (was £41.93 reduced from £159.99)
- St Albans sideboard* – £64.93 (was £74.93 reduced from £259.99)
- Bistro chair* – £9.93 (was £11.93 reduced from £23.99)
- Michigan dining table* – £69.99 (was £129.99)
- Westport dining chairs pair* – £35.93 (was £119.99)
Of course, we can’t guarantee these will still be in stock when you check.
Are you planning to spend over £150?
While Homebase has told us these price cuts are final, there’s a way you can save an extra 20% if you’re planning on spending a fair bit of money on new furniture.
From Thursday, when the clearance officially launches in stores, you can also get 20% off all indoor furniture (including reduced items) in store and online when you spend at least £150. It’ll be automatically added at the checkout and it’s on until Thu 30 Apr.
But as certain items are likely to be extremely limited, waiting until Thursday’s a gamble that might not pay off. Let us know how you get on in the forum.
