Sainsbury’s currently has champagne reduced to £13 a bottle, as well as 25% off wine and champagne when you buy six bottles. Combine this with an online newbies code for £20 off when you spend £60, and you could effectively get champagne for £6.40 a bottle.
This is all about combining a number of different promotions – what we like to call ‘code stacking’.
1) Champagne reduced from £18 to £13 a bottle
Antoine de Clevecy champagne is reduced to £13 a bottle (its standard non-discounted price is £18) in stores and online at Sainsbury’s* until Tue 2 Jun.
2. Sainsbury’s also has 25% off six bottles, so it’s £9.75 per bottle if you buy six
Buy six bottles of any of the promotional champagnes or wines, before Sat 30 May and you’ll automatically get a further 25% discount.
That means you can buy six bottles of Antoine De Clevecy champagne for £58.50. That’s £9.75 a bottle plus delivery if you order online (but this can also be done in store) – a great price for a bottle of bubbly even if you don’t boost the discounts further.
3. Now for the trick – new to Sainsbury’s online? Boost it further with a £20 off £60 code, and spend the £20 on groceries which you’d buy anyway
Get the code from VoucherCodes* and you’ll get £20 off when you spend £60 until Sat 6 Jun. Yet the T&Cs state you can’t use this just on alcohol (“A minimum spend on products other than spirits, liqueurs, or wine during any buy six save 25% multibuy to the value of the voucher discount is required”).
So you’ll need to spend the ‘free’ £20 on groceries – choose things that you would’ve bought anyway, so effectively there’s no additional cost to you (or at most there’s just the extra cost of buying them in Sainsbury’s compared to your own normal supermarket). You need to have your order delivered/collected on or before Sat 30 May for this deal to work.
With the code you’ll be spending £58.50 on six bottles of champagne AND £20 of groceries. As you’d buy these anyway, it’s effectively £38.50 for the champagne. Delivery is £1-£6 depending on the time slot, or free if you use click & collect. Voila! Bubbly from £6.42 – a ridiculously cheap price.
