MSE Update Tue 11 Aug: This deal was due to last until Fri 14 Aug, but we’ve heard reports that Asda’s £1 soup offer has ended early. There aren’t currently any other offers to stack with the coupon, but you can still use it to get £1 off any New Covent Garden Co soup at all major supermarkets.
This soup-er trick is back! By combining a coupon with a half-price offer in Asda stores, you can bag yourself a free posh soup. Who said there’s no such thing as a free lunch?
Step 1: Get the coupon
Just go to the MyMail website, register for free and print the coupon for £1 off any New Covent Garden Co soup. It’s valid at all major supermarkets
You need to print it off and hand it over at the till – no showing it on your phone, sorry.
MyMail says the coupons are available until 31 Dec 2015, but there are a limited number so they could run out before then. Get yours quick if you want one. Once you print it, it’s valid for about 30 days (we printed ours on Tue 4 Aug and it’s valid till Wed 2 Sep). You can only use one coupon per transaction and it’s one coupon download per email address.
Step 2: Find some discounted soup
You can get a 600g carton of New Covent Garden soup in most supermarkets, but Asda has a range of flavours reduced to £1 from £1.98, until Fri 14 Aug.
If there isn’t an Asda near you (find your nearest*), keep an eye out for other offers, as these soups are often reduced.
If you pick up a soup which has been reduced to £1, you should get it for free.
Will it definitely work?
We understand that the coupon should be accepted at all major supermarkets and convenience stores that stock the soup, and the trick is working for a lot of people online (and has worked fine previously), so it’s definitely worth a try.
We do hear reports occasionally of checkout staff not accepting coupons, which can be due to error or inexperience. If this happens to you, try asking politely to speak to the manager about the store’s coupon policy.
