Going to the cinema can be a costly endeavour but the curtain’s just gone up on a cracking Odeon deal which you can take advantage of this weekend.

You can get 50% off any adult, child, student, teen or senior ticket for 2D and 3D screenings when you enter the code APRIL50 online at Odeon until Thursday 21 April. If you want to get the discount at the box office, enter your email address via the link above and you’ll be sent a voucher.

Any exclusions?

The code isn’t valid on The Jungle Book and Fan, and can’t be used at Odeon Whiteleys, Leicester Square and BFI IMAX (all in London). You can’t use it with any other offer, including Meerkat Movies, or if you buy your tickets via a ticket machine.

Get 20% off food and drink

You can also get 20% off your food and drink at Odeon. Just sign up online and you’ll be sent a voucher to your email. It can be redeemed at the Odeon retail counter but excludes alcohol, Costa, Croma, The Gallery or Ambar.

Even using this voucher, cinema food and drink is at a premium, so it would be cheaper to take your own with you (if your local cinema allows).

What can you save?

A full-price adult ticket for a 2D film at Odeon can cost £3-£13ish depending on location, and 3D can be more. As there is no minimum spend, getting 50% off could reduce each standard ticket price by up to £6.50ish – a blockbuster deal.

Obviously cinema food is pricey, and the 20% off voucher would mean you’d still pay £3.80 for a medium popcorn instead of £4.75 at the Odeon closest to MSE Towers, but prices may vary.

Movies you can see with this deal include Batman V Superman, Zootropolis, Eddie the Eagle, The Huntsman and many more.

Regular cinemagoer?

You can get 2-for-1 cinema tickets for a year for only a £2ish spend with our Meerkat Movies trick.
