We’ve had Amazon tricks before, but this is the most ‘free’ money you’ve been able to get… because it’s £13 via two separate deals – one for £6 and one for £7. They’re pretty easy to get, but you need to be careful to ensure you get both.
Who can do this? Any existing Amazon customers. Though if you’ve only recently signed up, or bought a gift card in the last couple of years, you may be excluded from one or both of the deals (as we’ll explain below).
How do you get both? These are two separate deals, and as soon as you complete all the steps on one and make a purchase, you can’t do the other. However, if you click to check you’re eligible in one, then do nothing, and go straight away to click to check you’re eligible on the other, then you should be allowed do both (you’ll know if not).
Deal 1: ‘Free’ £7 with £30 Amazon gift cards
If you’ve had an active Amazon account since at least 16 Mar 2016 and you haven’t used it to buy gift cards since 16 Mar 2014, you can get a ‘free’ £7 promo code when you buy £30 of Amazon gift cards until 11.59pm on Sat 14 May.
As gift cards are valid for 10 years, and on most items sold by Amazon, this is effectively £7 free credit as long as you’ll spend £30 on Amazon at some point in the next decade.
Can I get it? Check if you’re eligible via the free £7 code Amazon link* (but don’t complete straight away if you want the £6 free code below).
What can I use the code on? You need to use the £7 code by Thu 30 Jun, and there’s no minimum spend. It can only be used on items dispatched and sold by Amazon, not third-party sellers (this will be clearly marked on screen).
Deal 2: ‘Free’ £6 with £60 Amazon Top Up
As long as you created your Amazon account before 6 Apr 2016, and you haven’t used it to buy gift cards since 6 Apr 2014, you can get a ‘free’ £6 promo code when you buy £60 of Amazon Top Up credit until 11.59pm on Sun 24 Apr.
As Amazon Top Up credit – where you add funds directly to your own gift card balance – is valid for 10 years, and on most items sold by Amazon, this is effectively £6 free credit as long as you’ll spend £60 on Amazon at some point in the next decade.
Can I get it? Check if you’re eligible via the free £6 code Amazon link*.
What can I use the code on? You need to use the £6 code by Sat 11 Jun, and there’s no minimum spend. It can only be used on items dispatched and sold by Amazon, not third-party sellers (this will be clearly marked on screen).
If it’s been longer than 48 hours and you still haven’t received a code, you should contact Amazon’s customer service department*. When Amazon’s run similar offers before, it’s been quick to help people when they got in touch.
