Winner, winner, chicken dinner! New free online lottery ‘Win a Dinner’ dishes out Nando’s gift cards & other food prizes

Nothing beats free food in my opinion, and there’s a new daily prize draw that anyone can play – completely free of charge – where the prizes are edible.

Win A Dinner has just launched, giving you the chance to win food prizes every day in its totally free lottery. It works exactly the same as other online lotteries (in fact, it’s been set up by the same team that’s behind Free Postcode Lottery) – you just sign up and wait for your username to be drawn.

But crucially, you must check the site every day after 4pm when a new winner is drawn to find out if you’ve won and then claim your free dinner.

What prizes are up for grabs?

Instead of just money as with other lotteries, most of the prizes are food related. Current prizes include £30 gift cards for Pizza Express or Nando’s, and a three-month recipe box subscription from Simply Cook. Alternatively, you can choose either £20 PayPal credit to spend as you wish or to double your winnings as a charity donation.

How do free lotteries make money?

Free lotteries like Win A Dinner make money by littering their websites with adverts and offers. These can be distracting, but you don’t need to click them – the only thing you need to concern yourself with is whether or not you’re a winner (and this will be clearly indicated beneath the clock counting down to the next day’s draw).

How do I enter and win?

When you sign up, you’ll get a username and an avatar that you’ll need to look out for every day on the site. Not as easy to remember as a postcode, so you might need to write it down somewhere.

If you’re a winner, a ‘claim’ button will appear. Press it and you’ll be given the prize options, and will either receive a physical gift card or online code/transfer depending on which you choose.

And if winners don’t claim within 24 hours, it’ll mean that an extra winner gets a prize in the next draw – the following day at 4pm – so rollovers don’t affect the value of the prize, but do increase your chances of winning a dinner.

What are my odds of winning?

At the moment, over 10,000 people are signed up, so your chances of winning are better than Free Postcode Lottery, but of course it’s a smaller prize. It’s one to check each day along with the 10 other daily lottery websites we’ve blogged on before.
