If you like your pastries with some heft to them, look no further… you can now get a sausage roll longer than most people’s forearm, and it only costs £1.
To get it at this price, you’ll need to roll to a Morrisons ‘Pie Shop’ counter by Mon 14 Aug. They can be found in most of its larger stores nationwide (find your nearest*).
So what’s all the fuss about? Well, in honesty, I think it’s probably little more than a PR stunt – but I’d be telling porkies if I said I wasn’t genuinely interested, and if you’re a fan of meaty treats, it could be up your street as well.
Just look at the size of it compared to a standard sausage roll (80p, on the left)…
Now, whenever we tell you about a deal on booze, we say “be Drinkaware”, and in this case we’re going to say “eat responsibly” as these sausage rolls contain 1,650 calories… it’s snout for the faint-hearted, and a bit more than a light snack.
The price will go up to £1.43 on Mon 14 Aug, which still actually works out cheaper gram for gram than its smaller counterpart. Anyone fancy sharing one with me?
