Free burgers are music to my ears, and burger chain GBK has done some tasty burger giveaways in the past. And this one is no exception.

On Monday 16 October, more than 4,000 free burgers are up for grabs at all 87 Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurants nationwide (find your nearest). But you’ll need to be swift as it’s first-come, first-served – and there are only 50 available at each restaurant (one per person).

You’ll need to be one of the first 50 to claim (check before you sit down), and show your valid EU passport to the server and boom – you’ve got a free burger, with no purchase necessary. GBK says the reason for this is to “bring together a divided nation” with its new burger, which it says “brings together the best British and European ingredients together in one burger” – a hat tip to Brexit.

Basically, it’s a promo campaign to release its new ‘Brisket Burger’, which is the freebie on offer (norm £9.95). It contains a 6oz beef patty, salt beef brisket, burgernaise, edam cheese, paprika onions, pickled cucumber and house relish on a pretzel bun. If you want chips or a drink, you’ll have to pay – but you can get free tap water.

As it is first-come, first-served, you’ll likely need to get there for opening. It’s normally 11am or 12pm, but it varies per restaurant, so check your local restaurant before you go.

See you in the queue…

Will you be claiming your free GBK burger? Have you seen any other freebies like this recently? I’d love to know in the comments below, on Twitter @MSE_Deals or on Facebook.
