MSE Update Tue Nov 14 4pm: As expected with previous Uber Eats promotions, there are lots of reports of people seeing no sign of free doughnuts in the app, despite the promotion being meant to last until 6pm. We’ve contacted Uber Eats to ask what is going on and will update you here when we hear back.
If you want a tasty treat to brighten up your Tuesday, you could get a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts delivered to your door for free.
All you have to do is live or work near a participating store – mostly inside the M25, see below – and log on to the Uber Eats app between 2-6pm today only (Tues 14 Nov). You should then be able to order a dozen glazed doughnuts from your local Krispy Kreme shop via the app for free – though there are only 36,000 free doughnuts available (3,000 boxes of 12), so you’ll have to go quick.
We’ve asked Uber Eats – the restaurant delivery arm of ride hailing app Uber – to confirm all the details but it has yet to get back to us. We’ll update you here when we know more, but we wanted to share now as it’s such a short-lived deal – so look at it as a potential bonus on a chilly Tuesday, rather than guaranteed.
Which stores are included:
The stores included in the deal are: Baker Street, Bexley Heath, Bromley, Canary Wharf, Croydon, Enfield, Fleet Street, Fulham, Hammersmith, Harrow, Holborn, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, Paddington, Romford, Shannon Corner, Uxbridge, Victoria, Wandsworth, Watford, Westfield, Shepherd’s Bush, Westfield, Stratford.
If you aren’t exactly in one of those areas, it’s still worth checking as they may deliver further afield. At MSE Towers in Soho we found both Fleet Street and Holborn will deliver to our office.
How have similar offers worked?
In the past when it has run similar offers, you’ve simply needed to open the Uber Eats app when you are in an area that offers the free food, and the offer has come up in your home/results screen. You then selected the offer and your address and should have the freebies delivered to you.
In previous promotions like this, we have had trouble ordering the freebie, with Uber Eats saying it’s ‘unavailable’ due to high demand. We’re hoping this doesn’t happen this time, though be prepared to log into the app a few times to try and grab a free dozen.
Are you going to grab your free dozen doughnuts… and will you share them? Let me know in the comments below, on Twitter @MSE_Deals or on Facebook.
