FREE Walkers crisps 6-pack (again and again)
If I had a penny for every time I've couponed my way to free crisps... I'd have one penny. But I'm hoping after this month, I'll be a lot richer.
One of my favourite things to do is indulge in a packet of crisps, so you can imagine my excitement when I spotted you can get a whole six-bag multipack of Walkers Baked crisps totally free, and it really couldn't be simpler. All it takes is a coupon...
How to do it
In the October edition of the free Tesco magazine, on page 58, you'll find a coupon for a free 6-pack of Walkers Baked crisps. Simply tear it out of the magazine, and from Wed 17 Oct, pick up a pack from the shelf in any Tesco superstore or 'Extra' (it's not valid in the smaller Express stores) - and take the coupon and crisps to be scanned at the till. It's that easy.
This is what the magazine looks like:
Tesco told us that the magazine is stocked in over 900 stores nationwide, so it's widely available. Though in the past, they've tended to run out fast when there's a decent coupon inside, which is even more reason to go quick. Usually they'd be found in a big container box by the entrance or near checkout.
The multipacks usually cost £1.50, and you can use the coupon on three flavours (ready salted, cheese & onion or salt & vinegar). Alternatively, if you do your shopping online at Tesco*, you can claim the freebie by entering the code GR7MY9 at the checkout.
Here's the coupon from inside the mag, plus the packs you'll need to look out for:
How to max it
Tesco's magazine, which the coupon’s printed inside, is free for all customers to pick up in store. There were loads piled up at the entrance when I checked at the Tesco nearest MSE Towers (Tue 16 Oct), but I can't guarantee they'll be in every store.
Of course, Tesco would probably rather you only take one magazine, and some might feel it’s being greedy or wasteful to grab several - so that’s a personal choice - but it’s certainly possible, as long as the magazines are available, to do this more than once.
The T&Cs in the coupon state it's one per transaction, so you can't get 20 in the same shopping trip, but in theory you can keep going back until Wed 31 Oct with a new coupon each time to pick up more crisps. Some extreme couponers have even been known to use those plastic ‘next customer’ dividers to make each pack a separate transaction [editor's note: you’d never catch Jordon doing this...] in order to use more coupons in one trip.
The coupon scans in at £1.50 at the till, so keep an eye out for offers, as if it drops to £1 as it has in the past, you could get a 50p profit or ‘overage’ that should come off the rest of your shopping (see our Extreme Couponing guide for more tips like this).
If the crisps aren't your bag, you can always donate the packs to a food bank or other charity collection, and it won't cost you a penny.
Will you be claiming your free crisps this week? I'd love to know in the comments below, on Twitter @MSE_Deals or on Facebook.
