East Midlands Trains £5 off £20 spend code

Receive code by email when you enter its Paris competition

If you're planning to travel on East Midlands Trains over the next few months, there's a way you can get a £5 off code to use online when you buy a train ticket (or tickets) totalling £20 or more in one transaction.

The code is valid when you book online at East Midlands Trains* on any journey (or journeys) on its network (eg, London to Nottingham, Sheffield to Manchester – see full map) and you'll need to use it by 11.59pm on Sun 10 Sep, though you can book to travel up to 12 weeks after that date.

How do I get the code?

To get the £5 code, you'll need to enter East Midlands Trains' Paris promotion* by filling out the form on its website by 11.59pm on Sun 27 Aug – it's a competition where one person will win two return first class train tickets to London St Pancras (valid on the East Midlands Trains network only) and two Eurostar standard tickets from there to Paris, and three nights in a hotel. Take a look at the full terms and conditions

We don't normally cover competitions, but we're telling you about this one because everyone who enters will have a £5 off code emailed to them, and that's what we're interested in.

You'll need to enter your name, email and address into the form – East Midlands Trains says you'll be signed up to its newsletter but you can unsubscribe at any time.

The £5 off code will be emailed to you within seven working days so it's probably not good for any travels in the next week or so. You can't use it when buying tickets at a train station, and you can only get one code per person.
