October means Halloween, and shops are already stacking ghosts and ghouls high early this year, but what are the best deals to avoid a fright before the night? We've rounded up the best deals on decorations, costumes and other party supplies at high street stores so you'll have a fiendishly good time without breaking the bank.

Aldi (find your nearest) has brought out it's decorations from Thu 5 Oct, some are available online while stocks last, and some are in-store only.

Good deals we found include:

Asda* also has a few Halloween decorations and party supplies out now, including:

If you're looking for the cheapest treat bucket, Wilko* has it as well as other Halloween offers, including:

Poundland has a large Halloween offering this year, at - you guessed it - £1, including:

Topcashback logo'Free' up to 3 Halloween pumpkin*Via cashback. New Topcashback users only

Expired

New Topcashback* members (or those who have previously signed up but haven't tracked a purchase yet) can get up to £3 cashback when buying a Halloween pumpkin until 11.59pm on Mon 31 Oct.

You can buy your pumpkin from any UK store – as long as the receipt shows it's a pumpkin you've bought. The big supermarkets are selling them for 75p-£3, so providing the cashback tracks successfully, this makes the pumpkin essentially 'free' as you get what you paid, as long as you don't spend over £3.

There are 2,500 redemptions available, so don't creep around if you want this deal.

Here's how to get this smashing pumpkin offer:

Halloween pumpkins

1. You'll need to create a Topcashback* account (unless you've previously signed up but not yet tracked a purchase). You'll be automatically opted in to receive marketing emails, but Topcashback says you can unsubscribe at any time.

2. Once you are a member, check via the website or app that the offer hasn't been fully redeemed (it won't appear if it has). If you can still redeem, buy any pumpkin for up to £3 from any UK store. The offer's not valid on purchases made online.

3. You can either upload the receipt via the Topcashback* website, or with the Topcashback app*. Just go to 'in store' offers, find the 'free pumpkin for Halloween' and select 'take a photo' to upload your receipt. Date and time of purchase, retailer name and item purchased must all be visible. It's best to do this as soon as you can after purchasing your pumpkin in case redemptions get used up.

Topcashback says it could take up to seven days for the cashback to appear in your account as pending, and then up to 30 days for it to be ready to be withdrawn (via BACS or PayPal transfer). You will receive the price you paid for the pumpkin, up to the value of £3.

See the Top Cashback Sites guide for full details on how these sites work.

Quidco logo'Free' 15 Halloween costume via cashbackNew Quidco members buying from George at Asda only

Expired

If you're new to Quidco you can get £15 cashback when you spend £10 or more on a Halloween costume online from George at Asda before 11.59pm on Sun 30 Oct.

What’s more, you’ll also receive the normal amount of cashback (up to 4%) on your purchase, as well as the bonus £15 back, regardless of whether your costume cost £10 or £15.

We don't want to spook you, but as there are only 500 redemptions available, it's worth going quickly as we've seen offers like this finish early.

When we checked on Tue 25 Oct, there were 50 child or adults' costumes from £10-£15, so providing the cashback tracks successfully (make sure you follow the Quidco link above) you could essentially get it for ‘free’, or even be in profit.

How long do I need to wait for my cashback?

Quidco says cashback will be in your account by Sun 6 Nov, and you can then request it by BACS or PayPal. Cashback is never guaranteed, so look on it as a bonus rather than a certainty – this offer is great if you're already planning to buy the item.

See the Top Cashback Sites guide for full details on how these sites work.

More info

The offer can only be redeemed once per household.
