Kids eat free at Frankie & Benny's from today – if parents ditch their phones
Frankie & Benny's restaurants are running a 'kids eat for free' offer from today – as long as their parents agree not to use their phones for the entire meal.
The Italian restaurant chain is allowing under 14s to eat for 'free' from its kids menu from today until 7 December, as long as their parents store their phones in designated boxes at the dinner table. The offer could then be extended, depending on its success.
The move comes after the eatery commissioned research which found that 72% kids are fed up with their parent's screen time.

How does the deal work?
The deal is being offered at all Frankie & Benny's restaurants in the UK.
An adult – anyone over 16 – must order a main meal. There's no official limit to how many kids can eat for free, although the final decision will be at the discretion of the restaurant.
Kids get a full kids meal bundle, with a main, two sides, dessert and drink.

What does Frankie & Benny's say?
A spokesperson for Frankie & Benny's said: "We want family to come first when you step into a Frankie & Benny's – and even more so around Christmas.
"We looked at various ways we could encourage people to engage more at the dinner table, and we've found giving families the chance to part with their devices for a mere couple of hours is a great way to bring them closer and embrace family time, especially with the added incentive of the 'kids eat for free' offer at such an expensive time of the year."
