When is it best to buy – on Black Friday or in pre-Christmas sales?
If you've got Christmas gifts to stock-up on, you might be best buying on Black Friday rather than planning a last minute dash around the shops. MoneySavingExpert.com research of 50 items found that more than half of those we checked were cheaper on Black Friday compared to on 23 December.

Trainline customers vent their anger after company unexpectedly withdraws 50% off railcards Black Friday deal just days after launch
Customers have been left frustrated after a shock U-turn by Trainline meant they could no longer get 50% off a new railcard. Shoppers were told they had until 17 December to use the discount code, however Trainline instead closed it on 26 November - nearly three weeks early.
