Is it time to stop giving Christmas presents?

Christmas has become a retail festival, celebrated by spending and shopping. Is it time to stop the sending of presents to reduce the pressure and obligation on others who canít afford to spend on you? (For a full discussion see Martinís Time to Ban Presents? six-point manifesto).
