We've checked the line at your address and you should expect to receive this download speed. Though it can vary depending on factors such as the time of day or your Wi-Fi signal (if you use Wi-Fi).
Virgin Media stands apart from the other big broadband providers and it operates its own cable network, and specialises in fast or superfast broadband packages. It also offers line rental and a broad range of TV channels.
What does Virgin Media offer?
All of Virgin Media's broadband packages offer much faster speeds, but it's only available to 60% of households. Most come with line rental as standard, though Virgin's one of the few providers to offer a broadband-only option too (though this isn't always cheaper).
Virgin Media broadband isn't as widely available as other major UK broadband providers, but you can use our Broadband comparison tool to see if you can get it.
In 2021, Virgin Media merged with O2, one of the UK's largest mobile networks. Currently, it operates both brands separately, but if you happen to have both services at the same time, you can access additional benefits such as double mobile data and a Virgin Media broadband speed boost via its Volt benefits. See Virgin Media for more.
How good is Virgin Media's customer service?
Virgin's customer service is rated 'OK' overall.
In our July 2024 poll, 64% of just over 1,200 Virgin customers who answered scored it 'great' or 'OK' for customer service, versus almost 36% rating it 'poor'.

Do Virgin Media offer broadband only options?
Although the majority of Virgin Media's broadband packages include line rental, they also provide broadband-only options. Historically, broadband-only deals tended to be pricier compared to those bundled with a line. However, we're seeing a shift, with broadband-only deals becoming more cost-effective.
Virgin Media broadband setup
If your property has had Virgin Media before, you'll be able to set up your services with its QuickStart self-install box, which is free. It'll tell you during the checkout process if you're eligible for this and it'll mean Virgin Media will supply you with the kit, cables and everything you need to get you up and running without the need of an engineer.
If you're not eligible, or your property hasn't had Virgin Media before, you may have to pay £30 for an engineer to come out and install your service, which can take around two hours. Whether or not you pay this charge will usually be decided during the checkout process. Virgin Media will let you know if you'll be required to pay anything before confirming your order.
Virgin Media line rental
The standard line rental option from Virgin Media is its Talk Weekends package, which offers inclusive calls to UK landlines and Virgin Mobile numbers at the weekend.
There are four further packages to choose from including Talk More Anytime and International.
Virgin Media line TV
Virgin Media offers a huge amount of choice when it comes to telly and all come with the Virgin TV 360 box. There are four main packages to choose from including the Big, Bigger and Ultimate Volt bundles.
Once you've chosen your basic package it's possible to mix and match, paying extra to add various channel bundles.
What deals and offers can new customers get when they join Virgin Media? Can existing customers get the same deals?
New customers joining Virgin Media often have access to a range of deals and offers, which can vary. These may include discounted introductory rates, free installation, cashback incentives, or bundled services such as broadband, TV, and phone packages. Existing customers may not always have access to the exact same deals and offers as new customers.
