Salman Haqqi

Salman is an experienced personal finance editor and writer, having joined MoneySavingExpert as its Money Products Editor in July 2024.

With over 15 years of experience in journalism and financial content creation, Salman is responsible for overseeing banking and insurance product content at MSE. His role focuses on providing actionable guidance that empowers consumers to make confident financial decisions, aligning with MSE's mission to help everyday people save money and make informed choices.

Before joining MSE, Salman held senior editorial positions at Uswitch, Confused.com, money.co.uk, and Finder, where he managed content strategies across a range of financial services, including banking, lending, investments and insurance. His work involved creating high-quality consumer content that resonates with readers and drives engagement.

Salman's editorial expertise is rooted in a strong journalism background, starting out in music journalism in California. He then moved to Pakistan, where he covered breaking news and investigative stories on international affairs and politics for Dawn Media Group and Newsline magazine, before transitioning to personal finance journalism in the UK.

His deep knowledge of personal finance and extensive experience in content creation enable him to help consumers navigate complex financial decisions. Salman has also been a spokesperson giving his expert view on financial issues for local and national press, including the Financial Times, The Sun and the Evening Standard.

Outside of work, Salman has a passion for music, as well as landscape and wildlife photography.
