  • Some clearance stock can be cheaper in store but the range on Argos's eBay outlet* makes it worth a look.

Most products it sells are new, and where items are refurbished, they're clearly noted.

  • There are always ways to save money at Argos*, so even if there isn't a cracking discount code or sale out there that works for you, don't assume you can't cut your costs further.

Ways to save money at Argos include:

    • Free Check & Reserve. This allows you to save on delivery costs by reserving an item online and collecting it from an Argos store (find your nearest*). Of course, this will depend on your local store having your item in stock.

    • Try haggling. We polled 1,400 MoneySavers to find out in which shops they had most success haggling, and 17% said they'd managed to blag a discount at Argos - so it's probably worth a try if you're brave enough. Read our Haggle on the High Street guide for more haggling tips.

    • 'Free' Argos vouchers. Argos regularly does an offer where you can get a 'free' £5 voucher when you spend £50, or a £10 voucher when you spend £100, to use on your next Argos visit.

    • Check out similar retailers, eg, Amazon and John Lewis. If you're not committed to buying from Argos, check out our deals from other places such as Amazon and John Lewis, where there may be a better offer.

    • Had a problem with Argos? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Argos*.

If you spot any hot deals out there we have missed (we are human after all!), please let us know on Twitter @MSE_Deals or by emailing us at msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com.

Automatic discount online and in store

You can get 25% off all items in the Sainsbury's Tu clothing range, including men's, women's, kids' and baby clothes, until 11.59pm on Mon 25 May.

The offer is running both online and in larger Sainsbury's stores (find your nearest – there’s an option to show stores that stock clothing). However, Sainsbury's has said that stock in store may be limited and the offer could be pulled at any time, so it's best not to make a special trip.

If you'd prefer to shop via Argos*, you can find the same discount on most Tu items.

There's no need to enter a code as the discount is applied automatically. Delivery's £3.95.

If you're after a different style, you can get 30% off Reebok.

Argos has told us that the only exclusion with this offer is nursery furniture.
