Action is needed from the Government and local councils to help support millions of people in council tax arrears. Charity the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute (MMHPI), which was set-up by MoneySavingExpert.com founder Martin Lewis, has issued the calls after research revealed that 2.8 million people with mental health issues fell into council tax debt during the pandemic.

Campaigners who launched legal action against Google over claims the tech giant secretly tracked the internet activity of millions of iPhone users have today lost their class action case. If the legal challenge had been successful, millions of iPhone users may have been awarded £750 each. But the Supreme Court's decision is final and cannot be appealed.

Around 460,000 (23% of) motorists could have saved a collective £2.3 million by renewing their driving licence online between April 2020 and March 2021, instead of by post, according to new figures from the DVLA. Meanwhile, an unknown number of other drivers could have saved by avoiding the Post Office's renewal service.
