Should the state pension be fully means tested?

30 May 2007

Poll Started 29 May 2007. Most single people above pensionable age who've paid the right National Insurance contributions are entitled to at least £87.30 from the State. This means even multi-millionaires receive it. Which of these deliberately stark choices is closest to your view?

A. All pay in, so all should get something out 6,352 votes (73 %)
B. Don't give it to the rich, then there's more for the poor 2,404 votes (27 %)

                   8,756 votes received.

We try to use technology to limit voting to one per person. Occasionally, this may erroneously block a few people's votes (eg, from shared offices). Apologies for that.
