The 'Fix Your Bike Voucher Scheme' has been quietly closed by the Department for Transport. It means cyclists in England will no longer be able to get their hands on a £50 voucher to help towards the cost of future bike repairs.

We've asked the Department for Transport (DfT) for further info but a statement on the scheme's website currently reads: "This guidance was withdrawn on 21 December 2021. The Fix Your Bike Scheme has closed."

The popular initiative launched in July 2020 and up until Monday this week the DfT had stated online that it "continues to work closely with industry to monitor the scheme's impact". Adding that "any updates on future releases of vouchers will be published on this page".

Some 400,000 vouchers had been issued to cyclists under the scheme, with 100,000 issued in 2020 and a further 300,000 dished out earlier this year.

Once you'd gotten hold of a voucher through the Fix Your Bike website, cyclists would then take their bike and voucher code to a repair business registered with the scheme and receive £50 off bike repairs, parts (not accessories) and/or a service.
