Thousands of homeowners with Aviva and Persimmon leases are set to benefit following a crackdown on unfair terms by the Competition and Markets Authority - some will also be refunded certain costs. It follows concerns these leaseholders may have found themselves trapped in homes they've struggled to sell due to doubling ground rent clauses and unaffordable freehold prices.

A new plastic £50 note featuring the inventor and codebreaker Alan Turing has entered circulation today (23 June). It will replace the current paper design featuring entrepreneur Matthew Boulton and engineer James Watt, which you'll no longer be able to use from 30 September 2022.

Waitrose has shaken up its terms and conditions to prevent shoppers with a daily, weekly or weekend newspaper subscription from using their MyWaitrose card in the same transaction. It means shoppers can no longer stack the two schemes together to get a bigger discount on their shop.

Pet owners have been warned to stop feeding certain dry food to their cats over fears it could be linked to a fatal disease. Certain Applaws, Pets at Home, Sainsbury’s and Wilko branded cat food made by Fold Hill Foods are affected by the precautionary recall but you can get a full refund from retailers.
