Holiday firm Lastminute.com faces legal action from the competition watchdog unless it repays over £1 million to customers it had promised refunds to after their package holidays were cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis. These refunds must now be paid within the next seven days.

Some Lastminute.com customers still haven’t received all their money back for cancelled holidays, according to research from consumer group, Which?. It comes despite the online travel agent promising the competition watchdog that all refunds would be paid by the end of last month.

Teletext Holidays is to be investigated by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) after it received hundreds of complaints that holidaymakers haven't received refunds for package holidays cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Two Ryanair television adverts have been banned after the advertising watchdog ruled they made misleading and irresponsible claims about the coronavirus pandemic. The ads stated that coronavirus vaccines were 'coming soon' and encouraged wannabe holidaymakers to 'jab and go' on Easter and summer trips.

British Airways customers who have accepted vouchers for disrupted flights or holidays during the coronavirus pandemic will now be able to use them for travel until April 2023, as the airline's extended their validity for a year. Travellers with bookings up to April 2022 can also now swap trips for vouchers.

Travellers arriving from 22 countries with known coronavirus variants will need to quarantine in Government-provided accommodation, such as hotels, for 10 days, the Prime Minister has confirmed.
