The following is the text of Martin's Money Tip E-mail sent 9 March 2004
Hi everyone. An exciting week for me, as I hope I'll be e-mailing you with full details of my new book in a few days……. Anyway I shall contain myself for now and give you the tips.
LOOPHOLE ALERT: Guaranteed 0% year after year for new & existing Egg cardholders. The Egg credit card's new ‘anniversary balance transfer offer' has a catch. It promises 5 months 0% balance transfers every year on the anniversary of joining. Yet do this and for most it won't really be interest free. However I've a sneaky way round it, beneficial for credit card tarts and those struggling to get new credit alike. Article: Click Here (AND PLS TELL ANYONE YOU KNOW WITH AN EGG CARD ABOUT THIS!)
Equity Release Guide (Printed):
Cheap European budget flight searcher: Two websites claim to trawl the internet to find the cheapest European flights including budget airlines. Six months ago they were pants. Both say they've upped their game. So please try them and then give me feedback. Click Here
Free MoneySavers Party. Tickets Going Quick!! Over half the tickets have gone & it's first come first served. It's on 25 March in London, to celebrate the site's first birthday and my Book Launch (I'll be doing my only signing there). Grab a ticket now (though pls, don't get them speculatively, only if you're definitely coming.) E-mail ed.obrien@intelligent-pr.com with your name & how many tickets. Further Details Click Here.
5.8% tax-free on your maturing Tessa: The Portman Building Soc. new Toisa (where maturing Tessas go) is a 5-year Term, fixed rate, 5.8% for year one then 4.8% after that - though you can withdraw your money with only 90 days loss of interest. Both maturing Tessa money or transfers from existing Toisas are allowed. Full Toisa Article including updated best buys Click Here.
More Travelodge Rooms: Nearly 16,000 people took advantage of the £10 rooms as noted in the last tip – due to MoneySaver Adam's availability checker. That's deal's ended and been replaced by £25/room. It's nowhere near as competitive, but Adams done another ‘checker' so you may want a look. Click Here
Missold your endowment, you've possibly only 6 months left to complain: If your endowment was missold (meaning not just it will underperform, but you weren't told it MAY underperform or were incorrectly advised) then its possible you're on a deadline to complain. One just for the lads! Sorry, it's not salacious, not even a little bit & its not even MoneySaving. There is a campaign at the moment by a father who has four little sons all needing bone marrow transplants. They want men between 18-40 to register as donors. For more info Click Here
That's it for this week. As I said at the top – you should get another email from me (I hope) later this week announcing my first book, and the special arrangements so you can get it pre-publication and cheaper. It's very important for my career and I hope you'll feel able to support me by buying it.
As always please tell as many people about the site & especially the e-mail as possible
I hope you save some money
