Hiya, loads of tips below, including a some specials for new & returning students.  If you know any do make sure they have a read, money is tight and MoneySaving should help.

TOP NEW & EXISTING STUDENT ACCOUNTS, SAVE £700:  New Article. This week's Deal is simply the top student account.  Even though term hasn't started, as the acceptance not registration letter is key, students should apply immediately to grab extra time at preferential terms.   Plus nothing prevents existing students switching too.  Article: Top Student Accounts.
Student Funding, Grants & Loans: Also a fully updated article explaining how this works.

LOOPHOLE! EXTRA £50 OFF CAR INSURANCE:  Get Egg's Car Insurance and it'll pay £50 cashback if you have its savings account too.  If you don't, just open a savings account with £1 and you qualify immediately anyway.  Egg isn't always cheapest, so best practice is read either Car Insurance Cost Cutting Quick Read or Extended Feature articles, follow these and then check Egg's price (Egg offer link*).  If it isn't £50+ more expensive than the best of the rest, put £1 in its savings account and you're quids in.  Discuss this loophole.

URGENT ADDITION! STOP PRESS! Landline call costs even cheaper. Brief notes only as this is developing as the tip's being sent.  More details next week.

EVEN MORE REGULAR SAVINGS INTEREST 5.85%: Derbyshire Building Society has increased its regular saver account rate to 5.85%.  It was already head-and-shoulders ahead for larger amounts of regular savings.  Updated Article: Regular Savings (includes how to use this account for saving lump sums).

NEW 0% FOR A YEAR BALANCE TRANSFER CARD:  Lloyds TSB Advance card has joined Barclaycard in offering new customers 0% interest for a year on debt shifted to the card.  Unfortunately this is one of the few cards which charges monthly interest on purchases even if you pay the card off in full. For this (and other) reason(s) never, ever, ever spend on this card.  Use it purely for balance transfers.  Updated Articles: Best Balance Transfer Quick Read or Extended Feature.

SNEAKY SKY BILL CUTS: This Chat Tip was so popular last week, I've promoted it.  Read Bye bye Sky to try & cut £60 off your bill and for a raft of other tricks.

£20 FREE INTERNATIONAL & UK CALLS IF YOU USE CALL18866 OR 1899: It's not call18866 or call1899 offering the £20, but OneTel. Confused? You should be.  Basically, if you use either of these for your calls, or have very low bills, then read free £20 calls for an explanation. If not, don't bother.
