EVEN BIGGER CURRENT ACCOUNT BRIBE. £50 cash, 5% interest, free travel insurance & 0% overdraft. A&L's responded to competition from Lloyds and now offers a £50 bribe to new online joiners. Well worth it, as it's outright winner in most cases if you're in credit or overdrawn. (Apply/View*) or, better, read Best Current Account article. Note for past switchers Due to past technical issues A&L's had some problems switching people over. I've negotiated a special solution for MoneySavers

FLIGHTCHECKER MAJOR SALE ALERT! Ryanair's offering free flights (excl. taxes etc) to over 30 destinations incl. Oslo, Seville, Berlin and Palermo if booked before midnight Thurs. Use the FlightChecker to find the free seats.
BAD NEWS! CALL18866 DOUBLES CHARGE! Call18866, the UK's cheapest calls provider, has doubled its charge for calling landlines to a 2p flat rate. It's still cheapest for most people, but a few can now do better elsewhere. I'm speedily re-numbercrunching and will publish the new Cheapest Calls Article next week.

MBNA INTRODUCING BALANCE TRANSFER FEE. Sadly, from 1 May MBNA's charging a 2% fee for all bt's including those made on application, wiping it out of all best buys. Importantly, this only applies to MBNA-branded cards. The others it manages have their own t&cs, so its Virgin 9 mth 0% card (Apply/View*) is still the market-leading fee-free 0% card. Read more. WARNING! BEWARE GAS & ELEC DOORSTEP PATTER. My doorbell rang recently and I heard "I've been sent to inform you about the latest Government energy market deregulation. It's important I speak to you." This was a ploy, simply meaning there's now energy competition and he wanted to flog me Southern Electric's services. I told him to, ut hmm, 'hop-it'. Don't fall for it! Instead read how to 'Find the Cheapest Gas & Elec supplier'.
POSSIBLE QUICK CHEAPEST CAR INSURANCE. Egg Car Insurance is currently paying £30 cashback if you pay with an Egg card. As Egg isn't by definition cheapest, first use my Car Insurance Cost Cutting article, then compare Egg's price (Apply/View*) after the cashback. More Details Related Article.
