INTEREST RATES CUT SPECIAL. Don't believe 'great for borrowers, bad for savers'.

Last week the Bank of England dropped rates by 0.25%, yet trite newspaper headlines ignored the real picture.

Who actually gains? Variable (or discount) mortgage holders' repayments will drop; new loan borrowers may save.

Who won't see changes? Fixed-rate mortgage holders, existing loan holders, credit card borrowers and fixed-rate savings holders.

Who loses? Variable savings accounts (most savers), though competitive forces mean rates are slow to drop.

WHAT TO DO?

Mortgage holders remortgage. This just means shifting to a better deal. See 'Free Printed/PDF Remortgage Guide' or read 'Sneakily Get Best Mortgage Advice Free'.

Personal Loan Borrowers. A new cheapest 5.6% uninsured loan has been launched by Northern Rock*, Read Cheapest Personal Loans.

Credit Card Holders As always, Balance Transfer to cheaper deals, and Shuffle Your Existing Credit.
