Cheap MOTs but expensive repairs? New article to beat the system
Council run MOT centres don't do repairs, so often this means MOTs pass clean as a whistle. New Article: Government MOTs Related Articles: Cheapest Roadside Recovery, Car Insurance Cost Cutting
If you're a parent please, please read this: new level term assurance article
This is something I'm passionate about; I lost my mother as a child and sadly, most parents don't consider the worst can happen. Death may also mean financial hardship due to lost income. Level term assurance is the cheapest way to protect your family, yet many providers take advantage and overcharge; I've re-done my research to find the cheapest. New Article: Level Term Assurance, Special mini-muttering
BOOTS MOBILE LOOPHOLE: Get paid to get a mobile phone contract
DON'T SWITCH! DON'T SWITCH! DON'T SWITCH! Energy Provider Warning!
I can hear the jaws dropping. Normally my mantra is ‘switch energy provider - it's easy MoneySaving'. Yet British Gas's hiking gas & elec prices up 14.2% and it's likely others will follow. This means any comparisons done now will provide false results. Unless you want a fixed or capped rate tariff (then see Cheapest Gas And Electricity article). Hold off, I'll let you know when I think it's time to switch. Special mini-muttering

Free personal/small biz tax help - self assessment deadline looming
Your self-assessment form needs to be on the Revenue's doormat by 30 September, or you may be lumbered with calculating your own tax. Experienced Tax Accountant Tony Tesciuba (my Uncle Tony!) has agreed to answer small biz/personal tax queries in the Chat Forum over the next few days. Ask a question/see how it works
New top current account! Plus make up to £130 with a mate. Updated article.
Lloyds TSB's dethroned Alliance & Leicester as top in-credit current account for new customers. It pays slightly less interest, but makes up for this by putting up £50 if you sign up online. If you're overdrawn A&L's 0% overdraft is still the winner. Plus both these accounts offer refer a friend schemes which can bag you a further £100. Apply/View: Alliance & Leicester*, Lloyds TSB* Articles: Top Current Account, Bag a free £100 with a friend

40,000 people and 65 MPs say no to debt ads yet are ignored
My petition against airing secured debt ads on childrens TV had its 40,000th signature this week, plus it's had a parliamentary motion supporting it. Yet the childrens' TV channels still ignore it. I'm looking at another major campaign push soon. Links: Sign the Petition, Read More Info, Discuss how to escalate the campaign
London Transport free Paul McKenna (means tenner dunnit?)

Loan insurance hell: new & existing borrowers can save £1000s. New article
Citizens advice has correctly super-complained to the OFT about loan payment protection insurance. Essentially it's surreptitiously added to loans, often is unnecessary and costs £1000s. I've updated my article on how to cut its cost, whether you're getting a new loan or already have one. New Article: PPI Savings. Related Article: UK's Cheapest Personal Loan
