Hiya, I'm excited. ITV's just confirmed scheduling for my new Make Me Rich series. The challenge is to save families as much cash as possible in one day. It starts 8 Dec at 2.30pm and runs every weekday for 15 days. This means it'll be on between Xmas and New Year, but then it'll be on at 12.10pm. I hope it's going to be good (not seen the final version myself yet!). The average saving is £8,700/family.

Directory Enquiries: Free on your mobile, free on the net, cheapest number to call
118 makes a farce of deregulation. Confusion reigns and costs are up. Yet my latest survey of the market shows the right technique and calling DQs needn't cost an arm and a retro tracksuited leg. Article: Directory Enquiries Related Article: UK's Cheapest Home Phones Provider

New top spending and borrowing card. Amex Blue 6.9% plus cashback (wow!)
The American Express Blue card's rate has massively dropped to just 6.9%. This isn't a short term intro offer, it's the card's new standard rate making it joint lowest permanent rate card (ie for those who aren't playing the 0% to 0% tarting game), but as it also pays 1% cashback it's the new number one. More petrol savings! New free service to find the cheapest petrol near you
Last year the AA disgracefully closed petrolbusters.com which found the cheapest petrol station near you. Fabulously, a new site does exactly the same thing. More Info: Petrol price comparison. 12% discount on everything at Boots! Including topping up your PAYG mobile
Boots launches a 12 day 'triple points' promotion online and in-store from Thursday for any spending over £15. Thus using your Boots Advantage card means you get 12p worth of points per £1 spent. If you've a PAYG mobile, top it up as it's a rare chance to get it cheaper. More Info Related Articles: Boots Treasure Trove

Top Bargain: Cheapest all-in Sat Nav now £165
The Garmin Street Pilot i3 Sat Nav system was the top pick in the Great Sat Nav Hunt a few months ago at £199 in Maplin (costlier elsewhere). So much so I bought one for my little Smart car and it's fantastic. Now Somerfield/Kwiksave has it on sale for £165. Finding your way

Automated Call Centres. Tricks to talk to a human
It's a modern nightmare. Call an automated phone system and wait hours when all you want to do is talk to someone. There's a site in the US that details tricks for different companies to quickly get to talk to a real person. I want MoneySavers to collect their info together so we can have similar here. If you know the tricks, please submit them here/read more about it

URGENT! Orange ending free 0800 calls from 1 December
Orange has annoyingly announced calls to freephone numbers will no longer be free. They'll be charged as standard landline calls. This is bad for anyone (like me) who's been successfully using this to override their call charges. The only freephone calls that'll be free are ones to charities. More info

Give someone £1000s for Christmas: A DIY or DI for them Money Makeover
A Money Makeover is powerful voodoo. Bookwise combining my own new Money Diet* (of course) and Which's Be Your Own Financial Adviser* is perfect. That's it for this week. However I learnt this week that I couldn't count. Rather shocking to be honest when you realise my job. It's a bit scary, yet thankfully I'm not alone, most people seem to be just as bad as me when it comes to this question. Try it.... freaky!

I hope you save some money
