Hiya. A strange week for me this week as I'm on the Wright Stuff panel (9am on Five). Lots of fun but a bit bizarre to be on telly not talking money!

While talking TV, I'm counting down the days before launching a campaign to ask a well-known mathematical presenter to stop doing secured debt ads. This email's my prime weapon. Please tell friends and family about it, then it can have a bigger impact. Suggest they join the free distribution list.

Make completely free "webweb" calls worldwide, but watch for "webphone" hype
It's possible to make totally free worldwide calls if both you and your mate have internet access. These free “webweb” calls are fab, yet watch out for “webphone” calls, where you dial normal phones from you PC – the good ol' fashioned phone is often cheaper. Make £100 with a mate and get a 0% overdraft
Regulars'll know this but this is a heads up for newbies. Alliance & Leicester is top current account for new customers, offering a 0% overdraft for the first year and 5% interest if you're in credit. Better still get together with a mate, one of you joins then 'refers' the other and it gives you both £50! NEW Top 6.4% loan for less-than-perfect credit scorers
The majority of lenders quote ‘typical' rates when offering loans meaning they often give higher rates to ‘less desirable' customers. Yet a few lenders say “the rate we advertise is the rate you will absolutely, definitely get if you're accepted.” For loans over £7,500, Nationwi de* is 6.4%, making it the market leader. For lending of £5-7k, Skipton Building Society's* is 6.5%. For more details and cheapest normal loans read Updated Article: Cheapest Personal Loans Related Article: Cut Price Plastic Loan

Call mobiles at 4p/min weekdays, without changing phone provider (BT is 12p to 22p)
The headline looks good, but regulars will know this has just gone up from 2p/min: sadly they've raised prices. Even so this is a massive discount compared to mainstream operators and still worth using. See the UK Callchecker for more info. Remortgage guide now available by phone after technical hitch; long term fixed rates still super cheap
Last week I said a 10 year fixed rate mortgage at 4.67% had been launched. It had, it's an incredible rate and a long term fix rate. I also said the best thing to do was read a copy of my free 24 page guide to getting a remortgage. Sadly currently the online system is sick, so neither the printed nor PDF versions are available but you can still get it by calling 0800 073 1957. Read more about the guide. I'll let you know as soon as it's fixed. Related Articles: Sneakily Get Top Mortgage Advice For Free and Fixed Versus Discount

The MoneySaving Old Style Board has a different feel to the rest of the site. It concentrates on thrifty living, how to minimise your expenditure.
