Thank you! £5,006 donated to Senegal health centre and surprisingly 6 kids funded for school
My estimates were wildly exceeded. There were 9,985 new recipients of my email in response to m'pledge to donate 50p per recipient to generate £2,418 to buy solar panels for a Senegal Health Centre, means £5,006 is donated. My target was £2,418 for the solar panels. Now added to that there's money to buy Health Centre equipment, vocational training for 2 Senagalese orphans, 6 sewing machines, 6 sets of school toys and 6 school classroom equipment. Thanks so much. Discuss this

Powergen raises prices by 18% on gas 24% on electricity. What to do
As predicted another company's raised its prices. As noted in previous e-mails now isn't the time to switch as the playing field isn't level as more companies will raise prices so comparisons are ludicrous. Unless that is you've never switched (ie you're using British Gas for gas and your regional electricity company for elec) then you should switch anyway - simply as you're paying soooo much over the odds, you should save even if the new company's prices rise. Changes (for the worse) in top 0% balance transfer (shifting existing debts) cards
A balance transfer is when you get a new credit card that pays off the debts on your old card for you so you owe the new card the money. Sadly HSBC's just dropped its 9 months 0% fees-free balance transfer offer so the longest standard fees free offers are now 6 months, with many cards including
Amazon*, Marks & Spencer* and the Post Office*. There are ways to get longer fees free cards, but there's the odd hoop to jump through. The best thing is read full details in the Updated Article: Best Balance Transfers Related Articles: Best Card For New Borrowing, The Credit Card Shuffle
