Hiya. Got a lovely note from 'Frugal' this week, "I complained about our missold endowment after your weekly e-mail nag (article). To my utter surprise, this morning Standard Life offered £6,082.83 compensation. I truly believed I wouldn't be entitled to anything as we sold it years ago. Now I'll be debt free for the first time since I was 18 (sometime ago, I'll tell you). Plus, after reading the forums, I claimed £270 tax back for washing of uniforms at home (note). Now I'll be attempting to claim my bank charges back too (article). Thanks all the MoneySavers, I can't believe it." Please forward this to friends and family, so they can see what's possible too and suggest they join the distribution list for this free weekly e-mail. | LISTEN TO THIS TIP'S

Quick BBQ Tip. Use a red onion to wipe down the barbie! This has nothing to do with MoneySaving, but I found it interesting so thought I'd bring it to you. At a family BBQ, my sister's friend who's a chef, wiped down the grill rack with a red onion. It was cut in half, with a fork in the back to hold it, and then dipped in water. Apparently this cleans the rack, reduces smoke and improves flavour. You heard it here first! Discuss |
