Mobile Roaming: Save up to 95% when phoning abroad. New Article

Take your mobile abroad and your network could charge you £1/min just to receive calls, even when your phone is switched off. Yet it's possible to massively cut the cost, either by using your networked little publicised free add-on packages that were introduced to stem EU criticism; or heavier roamers can get a Global Sim to receive calls free worldwide. New Loophole! Free £40 of Tesco Clubcard Deals: Just open a savings account
Open a Tesco's savings account before 20 Sept, and have a balance of £1,000+ on 30 Sept and you'll get 1,000 clubcard points (worth £40 if redeemed on Clubcard Deals). Yet sadly it pays just 3.35% interest compared to
ICICI's* 5.15%. So just open it with £1, deposit £1,000 in mid-September (I'll remind you) grab the bonus then close the account. Read Full How Tos (mini-mutterings) Related Articles: Top Savings Accounts, Where To Start With Savings, Credit Card Freebies

New 18 month 0% balance transfer card! Watch the sting in the tail
Capital One's new Platinum card is promising 0% on debts shifted to it, lasting 18 months. Sounds great, yet there's a J-Lo sized but! You'll pay a fee of 2% of the debt shifted, plus you need to spend at least £100 on the card, yet do that and the 'spending' is at a high interest rate, and can't be repaid until after all the other debt has. For those willing to play the system, there is a trick to get round this, making it a top deal, but it takes work. UK's Cheapest Home Phone: package now £1 cheaper
After a rap on the knuckles by the Advertising Standards Authority for advertising 'free broadband' on a new product, TalkTalk's* added the free broadband to its existing Talk 3 package. This means it's now phone line, broadband and unlimited calls to UK landlines for £20/month. The £1/month extra for unlimited international calls to 28 countries has been split out and is now an additional option. EDF Energy Price Hikes 8% Elec and 19% Gas: Time To Switch
EDF, which includes the old London Energy, Seeboard and SWEB, has hiked prices for the second time this year. Those who've never switched energy tariff before should do it now, you'll definitely save, others should still check out the savings. A special route to my usual top pick comparison service
Energyhelpline* pays £12.50 if it can switch you, alternatively Uswitch/champagne* gives a bottle of champagne worth £20ish. Remember though as, there's no guarantee prices won't rise again, the article lists each company's last price rise dates, if your cheapest hasn't increased recently, consider another. Sky TV Users can now get free broadband....
Much trailed in the press, those with Sky TV contracts of at least 12 months (paying by Direct Debit), with a BT line connection can get its basic broadband package for free, though there's a £40 activation fee - and it isn't available in every area. This is a good deal for existing Sky TV users who aren't locked into existing broadband contracts, though I wouldn't bother to sign up to Sky just for it.
