New free printed mortgage guide,
Free eye test,
6% paying current account,
And much, much more MoneySaving...

I wish this site reached as many as TV debt ads. Hiya. I was interviewed by MoneySavers in the Chat Forum last week and amongst other things asked "do you find it disheartening that MSE doesn't reach the same amount of people that those dreaded loan ads do?' Of course I do, but it's tough to compete against big debt companies' power and profits.

This site's prime weapon is word of mouth as often the big media doesn't cover stories for fear of upsetting advertisers; so pls tell everyone about the site and especially suggest they get this free e-mail by going to MoneySavingExpert.com/tips. (For more on consolidation loans see Problem Debt Guide and the 'Carol Vorderman, Secured Loan Ads Don't Add Up' Petition).

Getting a mortgage is a massive scary commitment; even small improvements can save you thousands. The top current account just got better! 6% interest, 0% overdraft & £50 sign-up bribe!
Alliance & Leicester* has improved its current account offer, great news as it was already the best buy. New customers get 6.1% interest if they're in-credit and a 0% overdraft for the first year (followed by 5.9% after that). Throw in the £50 cash available through its 'refer a friend' scheme and this is a corker. New cheaper way to call 0870s

Calling 0870 or 0845 numbers is often hideously expensive and they're rarely included in any free calls allocation. First see if there's an alternative normal number available (read the SayNoTo0870 article). If not, telecoms provider 18185 has just cut its 0870 calling costs evenings & weekends, and can be accessed without charging your main home phone provider, as you just dial the prefix number.
