Don't blame the banks! Hiya, forgive any venom, it's been a tough week's filming (see Debt Suicide blog) and this is important. Blaming banks for over-lending is dangerous. Believing they're responsible means we trust them; so when they try flogging us debt we assume we can afford it, rather than the truth: that they'll profit. We don't blame shops for our over-spending so why blame banks for our over-borrowing? They're the opposition: their job's to make money from us, they don't advise, they sell! Yet, while not responsible they're still culpable; if they deliberately promote a 'trust us' stance they deserve fierce castigation when it goes wrong (see blog for more or 'Problem Debt Help' for what to do).

Fight back. This site's aim is to build a consumer resource to match the might of the banks and others. Yet the no-ads, free to use stance, means there aren't the promotional resources of the big fully commercial money sites. It needs you to tell others. Please suggest friends/family add themselves to this e-mail's distribution list at moneysavingexpert.com/tips

Major Flight Sale Until Midnight Thurs! £10 e/w includes taxes & charges. Destinations include Berlin, Rome and Oslo
Budget airline Ryanair is offering flights to a raft of European destinations from a raft of British airports for £10 each way; unusually and importantly this price includes all taxes and charges. The special FlightChecker can speedily find these flights for you. Full Details Related Articles: Cheap Flight Finding, Travel Insurance Cost Cutting, Cheapest Way To Spend Overseas

32" HD Ready LCD TV £499 Very low price for this type of TV (for those who can afford it, gulp!) from Sainsbury's

12 months 0% on spending and rewards. New top lend for spend and how to make £200 from it!
Marks and Spencer &More card offers 12 months 0% on all new purchases and pays loyalty points worth 50p per £100 spent. For those needing the cheapest credit card for new borrowing, it's the new market leader (though ensure you either repay it or shift the debt before the 12 months is up) Updated Article: Best Lend For Spend. Yet there's a way to make money too if you're debt free and careful. Use it for all normal spending, making just min. repayments, then put your, therefore, unspent wages into a high interest savings account, so you're earning interest plus rewards on money lent to you for nothing. LAST CHANCE! Ends Thurs. Massive Loophole to save £400 on Holmes Place/Cannons Gym Membership
I'm pushing this hard as it's one of the biggest loopholes I've seen for a while. In a nutshell, get a private medical insurance policy, which can cost around £20/month and you get six months' free gym membership which would cost £60/month. Top 0% balance transfer card to end? URGENT? If you need it, do it now
The Post Office credit card is currently my top pick 0% balance transfer card, as it has the longest fees-free 0% offer; meaning you can shift debts to it for six months at absolutely no charge. Yet the rumour-mill has it that this deal's about to drop, it's purely Chat Forum gossip, but the signals seem very strong, so I suggest very speedy applications Apply/view: Post Office* Article: Best Balance Transfers

STOP YOUR FRIENDS WASTING CASH! PLS SUGGEST THEY GET THIS EMAIL

Free £10 cash loophole. May close any moment
A casino's offering all new registrants £10, but you can simply register and ask it to send you the £10 without gambling. My suspicion is this'll be shut down as this email's huge traffic hits it, possibly even during the send (it takes 12 hours to get to 690,000 recipients) so be quick. Chat Tip: Free £10 (mini-mutterings) Warning: Gambling isn't MoneySaving!

Quick Tip. Don't catch a bad credit history from your partner... never get joint finances!
Living with someone doesn't link your credit file with theirs, but having joint finances does. A joint mortgage, bank or savings account (although not a credit card), means partners' credit histories can impact companies' assessments of whether to lend either of you cash. If one party has bad debt history then avoid any joint products or you'll struggle to gain cheap credit. If you split up with someone you've joint finances with, once the accounts are separated, write to the credit reference agencies and ask for a notice of 'disassociation'
