Get 25% off advance and off-peak tickets on London Midland trains when you book by Fri 25 Apr. It's for standard and first class travel before Fri 30 May, though if you're booking a return ticket, the inbound journey can be made up to a month after your outbound journey.

What's more, Family & Friends, Two Together, 16-25, Senior, Network and Disabled Railcard holders can get an extra discount - that's an extra third off your travel.

There are thousands of tickets available every day, though it is subject to availability eg the total amount could dip due to engineering works. But, if there are tickets available, you'll see a red asterisk beside the ticket price.

How much will I pay after the discount?

Savings include: an advance one way ticket from Birmingham New Street to London Euston for £4.50  (usually £6), an off-peak return from Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street for £27 (usually £36.60) and an off-peak return from London Euston to Northampton for £19.70 (usually £26.30).

It's valid on off-peak journeys: trains arriving into London after 9.59am, for trains departing after 9.30am in the West Midlands and trains leaving after 9am elsewhere and anytime at weekends. 

Also excludes the following: off-peak tickets to/from London leaving Euston between 4.45pm and 7pm for journeys to Watford Junction and any station as far as (and including) Long Buckby. Off-peak tickets are not valid on trains leaving central Birmingham (New Street, Snow Hill, Moor Street, Jewellery Quarter and Five Ways) between 4.35 - 6pm, unless you are travellling beyond Hereford, Shrewsbury, Stafford or Northampton.

You can collect tickets from stations from two hours after buying or get them delivered for free.

Every day this week London Midland will announce up to 75% off some off-peak returns to/from Birmingham when you book online as part of its flash sale. Each discount will be available for just 24 hours.

The full details of the sales are only revealed on the day, but we know all routes chosen will be 62%-75% off and returns will be less than £10.

Here are the routes that have been discounted so far this week and those planned (we'll update this as the week goes on):

Mon: Liverpool to Birmingham (or vice versa) £9 return (normally £36.60)

Tue: Northampton to Birmingham £6 return (normally £18.30)

Wed: London to Birmingham £8 return (normally £28)

Thu: Hereford to Birmingham £5.50 return (normally £19.20)

Fri: Milton Keynes to Birmingham (price TBC, normally £20)

The first leg of the journey must be taken by Sun 31 Aug, and return travel must be made within one month of the outbound.

Get unlimited standard class off-peak travel for £15 (Mon-Thu, £20 Fri-Sun) on any London Midland route - London up to Liverpool via the West Midlands - for travel until Sun 21 Sep. If you've got a railcard you'll get 20% off.

How do I get my £15/£20 ticket?

Register 'n' print the Great Escape voucher before Sun 21 Sep, you'll need to know your travel date to register. London Midland confirmed Wed 17 Sep that there were 15,000 tickets available, but be warned, weekend dates go much quicker than weekdays.

You'll need to pick the date you want to travel and take your voucher to any London Midland station to buy your ticket, you can do this in advance or on the day you travel. If your nearest station's unstaffed, you'll be able to buy your ticket on the train.

Check for travel restrictions into Euston before 1pm on Saturdays. Off-peak tickets are only valid on journeys made after 9.30am Mon-Fri.

What are the potential savings?

You can hop on and hop off all stations served by London Midland services so savings can be large: a London to Birmingham standard off-peak return would usually cost £28, for Birmingham to Liverpool it's £36.60 and Liverpool to London it's £41.

It's worth noting that although these trains are cheap, they're mostly stopping trains so often not the fastest routes.

As it's for off-peak travel, you need to take your journey after 9.30am Mon-Fri. Some routes do allow travel at any time - do check the Great Escape T&Cs for more info. You can't travel from London Euston with a Great Escape ticket between 5pm- 6.30pm Mon-Fri.

There are also some weekend travel restrictions, tickets aren't valid on direct services from Crewe, Alsager, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Stone, Stafford, Rugeley Trent Valley, Lichfield Trent Valley, Tamworth, Atherstone or Nuneaton arriving into London Euston before 1pm on Saturdays. There are no restrictions on Sundays.

You can get a day's unlimited off-peak travel for £15 (Mon-Thu) on any London Midland route until Sun 19 Apr. It's £20 if you travel on Fri-Sun. What's more, if you've got a railcard you'll get an extra 20% off. The tickets are only valid on journeys that start after 9.30am, Mon-Fri. There are some restrictions at weekends too, see 'more info' below for details.

How do I get my £15/£20 ticket?

If you're planning a journey along the London Midland route (London to Liverpool via the West Midlands), register and print the Great Escape voucher before Sun 19 Apr. You'll need to know your travel date to register. Child tickets are £5 (Mon-Thu) or £10 (Fri-Sun).

Take your voucher to any London Midland station to buy your ticket. You can do this in advance or on the day you travel. If your nearest station's unstaffed, you'll be able to buy your ticket on the train.

How good is this deal?

You can hop on and off at all stations served by London Midland services, so savings can be large. The cheapest London to Birmingham standard off-peak return ticket we were able to find cost £29, and for Liverpool to London more than £40.

It's possible you'll be find an advance ticket for less, but this is unlikely as the offer's only available for the next couple of weeks and advance tickets often need to be purchased further ahead to make a decent saving. It's also worth noting that although these trains are cheap, they're not always the fastest routes. It can take two hours to travel from London to Birmingham on a London Midland train, but it takes 1hr 25mins with Virgin Trains.

You can use this deal as many times as you want until the tickets run out. There were 100,000 tickets available when the offer began on Mon 30 Mar. London Midland confirmed on Tue 7 Apr that there were over 50,000 tickets left but be warned, weekend dates go much quicker than weekdays.

On Saturdays, the tickets aren't valid on trains arriving into London before 11.59am from Crewe, Alsager, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Stone, Stafford, Rugeley Trent Valley, Lichfield Trent Valley, Tamworth, Atherstone or Nuneaton. They're valid on all other London Midland trains at any time. There are no restrictions on Sundays.

You can use one voucher for up to four adults and four children. If you're travelling in a bigger group, you'll need to download an additional voucher.
