Selfridges logoSelfridges: MoneySaving tips & tricks*Incl free Click & Collect & offers for email subscribers

Ongoing

There are always ways to save money at Selfridges*, so even if there isn’t a cracking deal out there that works for you, don’t assume you can’t cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

  • Free Click & Collect. Almost everything sold at Selfridges is eligible for free Click & Collect from a store (find your nearest*) and there's no minimum spend required.

  • Exclusive offers for email subscribers. If you sign up to the Selfridges email newsletter*, you'll receive its promotions direct to your inbox.

  • Check out similar retailers, eg, John Lewis and House of Fraser. If you're not committed to buying from Selfridges, check out our deals from John LewisHouse of FraserDebenhams, French Connection and Ted Baker, where there may be a better offer.

  • Had a problem with Selfridges? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Selfridges*.

If you spot any hot deals out there we have missed (we are human after all!), please let us know on Twitter @MSE_Deals, via MSE Facebook or by emailing msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com.

Selfridges logoSelfridges 30% off selected shoes*Via online code. Incl Burberry & Isabel Marant

Expired

While Selfridges isn't exactly MoneySaving, it's rare for it to offer such a high discount, so if you're looking for shoes, now could be the time to pounce.

You can get 30% off selected women's, men's and children's shoes online at Selfridges* if you go via this link and enter the code SHOES30 by Fri 9 Jun (extended from Sun 4 Jun). Delivery's £5, or you can collect in a store for free.

Not all shoes are included and Selfridges is unable to confirm which specific items are excluded, but the code will work on all shoes via the sale link above. We did a few price comparisons and, as you'll see below, Selfridges wasn't always cheapest even with the code, so do check before you buy.

You can also get the discount in stores (find your nearest*) until Sun 4 Jun, but you'll need to watch out for items with stickers on the soles to see what's included. The discount will be applied automatically at the checkout - no code needed.

Examples of strong discounts we found on Tue 6 Jun include:

An example where Selfridges wasn't the cheapest, even with the code is:

As is the nature of a sale, stock is very limited, so you’ll have to go quick if you’re after something in particular.

Looking for cheaper shoes?

If £300 shoes are out of your price range, online fashion retailer Everything5pounds.com is running a £1.99 shoe sale until Friday. See our write-up via the link for full details.

Selfridges logoSelfridges up to 20% off*Only 10% off fragrances & beauty. Online & in stores till Sun

Expired

This is a rare discount MoneySavers look for each year. As we predicted, posh department store Selfridges* is offering up to 20% off via an online code or in-store voucher over the Black Friday weekend, until Sun 27 Nov.

How do I get it?

You can either use this Selfridges voucher in stores or enter the code SELFCCE online. Delivery's £4.95 or you can collect in store for free.

What it’s valid on:

It’s valid for the full 20% off lines including fashion, homeware and accessories or 10% off fragrances and beauty. Some brands are excluded, see full T&Cs. We'll add some examples here when the sale goes live.

What it's best to use it on:

This discount works out best on posh brands that are seldom discounted, such as Michael Kors and KitchenAid (10% off only on KitchenAid products).

It's worth doing your research though, as when we checked on Wed 23 Nov some products were cheaper elsewhere, such as a Barbour Liddesdale quilted navy jacket, which was £80 at Selfridges after the discount but £71.61 at Country Attire.

Some products were also the same price elsewhere, such as an Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow palette which is £31.50 after the discount and the same price at Debenhams, Feel Unique and House of Fraser. Mulberry 'Tessie' hobo bags are also the same price at John Lewis, £556 after the discount.

However, there are some decent deals to be had using the code. Strong deals we found on Sat 26 Nov include:

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. And always do your own price comparisons to ensure you are getting the best deal possible – don’t just take a retailer’s word for it.

Section 75

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.

If a link has a * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site.

You shouldn't notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
