If you're travelling off-peak on South West Trains you can get an adult day return ticket for £15 and £5 each for kids for travel until Sat 30 Apr (excludes 24 Mar-28 Mar).

The offer is valid between any two of more than 170 selected stations on the South West Trains route (between London and the South West, exceptions apply to some stations west of Salisbury - see 'more info' below for exclusions or the full T&Cs).

The 'Great Indoors' £15 fares appear automatically and tickets must be booked by 11.59pm the day before travel online, at station ticket machines, or by phone on 0345 6000 650.

How much can I save?

With off-peak return tickets from London Waterloo to Weymouth costing £62.50 normally on the day from the station, you could save a substantial amount with this offer. It's likely that a £15 ticket would be the cheapest way to travel, but always check if you can get an advance ticket for cheaper or by buying two singles.

What is off-peak?

Off-peak restrictions apply to travel on Mon-Fri only (generally outside commuter times). Tickets are not valid on trains leaving London between 7.30am and 8.30am, trains arriving into London before 9.30am or trains leaving London Waterloo, Vauxhall and Clapham Junction between 4pm and 7.15pm. 

The restrictions vary depending on the route you take, so it's best to check train times online at South West Trains to see if your journey qualifies for the £15 offer, and if it may be affected by engineering works.

South West Trains is offering 50% off all off-peak adult and child day returns during October half-term. You can book online*, over the phone (0845 6000 650) or at the station for travel between Sat 25 and Fri 31 Oct.

Tickets must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance of travel and they're only valid on off-peak day returns, see more info below for all the exclusions.

You can't further the discount by using a railcard, but this deal could still save you up to £30ish on fares. A London Waterloo to Weymouth return (one of the longest routes on the network) normally costs about £59.20 if booked in advance.
