Vax logoVax: MoneySaving tips and tricksIncluding signing up for email offers

Ongoing

There are always ways to save money at Vax, so even if there isn’t a cracking deal out there that works for you, don’t assume you can’t cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

  • Offers for email subscribers. If you sign up to the Vax email newsletter you'll be the first to hear about new products and special offers.

  • Look for sales. Keep an eye on the sale section of Vax's website. MSE also usually offers exclusive early access to special Vax sales a couple of times a year – so sign up to our weekly email.

  • Shop around. It's worth noting that Vax's products aren't always cheapest on its own website, so it's worth checking to see if you can find the item you want cheaper elsewhere.

  • Check out similar companies. If you’re not committed to buying from Vax, you may find a better deal on cleaning products at companies such as Dyson or Karcher.

  • Had a problem with Vax? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Vax*.

If you spot any hot deals out there we have missed (we are human after all!), please let us know in the MSE Forum, email us at msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com or via MSE Facebook and Twitter @MSE_Deals.

Vax logoVax up to 80% off clearance sale*Code to access sale. 100+ products incl £300 vacuum for £60

Expired

MSE Update 5pm Mon 14 Mar: The Vax clearance sale’s now ended

A couple of times a year Vax* releases discounted vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners and other cleaning products with slightly damaged boxes on a special site you can only access with a code.

This time it’s offering up to 80% off and we've blagged MoneySavers a code, MSE16, which gives access to the site first and right through to the end of the sale on Mon 14 Mar. This means you can hoover up the best bargains now before others get access from 12.01pm on Thu 10 Mar. There are 118 different types of product in the sale, including 19 accessory lines.

These deals have been extremely popular in the past and feedback has been very good (see below), with forumites saying they could barely see a dent in the box. Vax has assured us the damage is minimal (eg, a scratch or a tear on the box) and the items are brand new and in working order.

How to access the deal

1. Go to the Vax sale website*
2. Enter the code MSE16 before 5pm on Mon 14 Mar. Delivery's £4.99.

It's worth noting that Vax's products aren't always cheapest on its own website. On this clearance site you should be able to save a substantial amount, but it's still worth checking to see if you can find the product you want cheaper elsewhere.

Decent savings in the sale include:

  • Vax C85-AC-PE air revolve cylinder vacuum cleaner for £59.99, was £299.99. Next cheapest we found: £82.97 at Amazon.
  • Vax U86-AL-B cordless vacuum cleaner for £99.99, was £299.99. Next cheapest we found: £176.42 at Amazon.
  • Vax U86-AL-BA cordless vacuum cleaner for £79.99, was £149.99. Next cheapest we found: £128.67 at Amazon.
  • Vax U88-AM-BE steerable upright vacuum cleaner for £69.99, was £249.99. Next cheapest we found: £99 at Amazon/AO.com.
  • Vax W89-RU-A pet carpet cleaner for £79.99, was £299.99. Next cheapest we found: £199.99 at Argos. SOLD OUT

Most machines come with either a two-year or six-year warranty, the rest have a one-year guarantee. Maximum one order and two machines per household, although you can order accessories in addition.

Feedback from MoneySavers on previous Vax deals:

"I used the MSE15 code to buy a Vax, arrived in three days, well pleased with it. Advised that I had saved £190, not bad. Thank you."

"I needed a new hoover and so did my mother in law, took advantage of this offer and got two brilliant Vax hoovers for less than £200. Delivered promptly in less than a week, so many thanks."

What if I have a problem with my product?

If your product is faulty, you have your usual consumer rights (see our consumer rights guide), but you won’t be able to return the item on the basis the box is damaged. However, the consumer contracts regulations give you 28 days to return anything bought online, even if you’ve just changed your mind. That's 14 days to cancel and 14 days after cancellation to return.

If you do have any problems, email customer support on factorysale@vax.co.uk or call 0330 124 2600.

Vax logoVax up to 68% off steam cleaners & pressure washers*Blagged codes offer early access to six-item sale

Expired

We’ve blagged MoneySavers exclusive early access codes for up to 68% off three steam cleaners and up to 60% off three pressure washers at Vax* until 11.59am on Fri 26 Jun. Vax will then be opening its sale on these items to others so if there's something you want, get in early while stock is plentiful to avoid missing out. Our codes will work until the sale ends at 5pm on Mon 29 Jun, subject to availability.

This isn’t part of Vax’s normal clearance sale with slightly damaged boxes, which have proved popular for MSE’rs in the past - all of these items are in new packaging and come with two-year guarantees. It’s a more limited selection of Vax products, but the discounts are strong and delivery’s free (it's normally £4.99 for clearance items). There’s a limit of one product per order and two orders per household.

How do I get the offer?

Simply visit Vax's website via this special link, select the item you want, add it to the basket, select 'Voucher Code' (before you select 'Continue to Checkout') and then enter the relevant code shown below. The price will update in the basket once the code's validated.

The sale includes:

It's worth noting that before the code is applied, buying products directly from Vax doesn’t always make them the cheapest around, but our checks show they should be using this deal. Of course, always check yourself first to make sure.

While Vax tells us there's plenty of stock, certain items may sell out fast so go quick if there’s something you’re after.

A few times a year Vax releases discounted vacuum cleaners and other cleaning products with slightly damaged boxes on a special site you can’t access without a code. This time it's offering up to 80% off until 5pm on Mon 30 Mar and we've blagged MoneySavers early access when you use the code MSE15 on the Vax sale site*. So you can hoover up the bargains before everyone else gets access on Thu 26 Mar.

"My Vax hoover arrived and I save over 100 quid... no more hoovering on my knees!"

It's worth noting that before the code is applied, Vax products aren't always the cheapest around, so while you'll still be saving a substantial amount, it might not always be 80%.

However, the distance selling regulations give you 14 days to return anything bought online, even if you’ve just changed your mind.

If you do encounter any problems, email customer support on info@vax.co.uk. Vax told us it aims to deal with all customer enquiries within 48 hours.

Vax logoVax up to 80% off*MSE Blagged code to access sale early. 100+ vacuums & more

Expired

MSE Update 12pm, Mon 3 Nov: Vax has told us that, due to high demand as a result of this offer, deliveries are taking longer than normal, so you may have to wait up to 10 working days for your order to arrive.

A few times a year Vax releases discounted vacuum cleaners, steam mops and other cleaning products with slightly damaged boxes on a special site that you can’t access without a code. This time it’s offering up to 80% off and we've blagged MoneySavers a code, MSE14, which gives access to the site first.

This means you can hoover up the best bargains before everyone else gets access on Thursday.

There have been similar incarnations of this deal and feedback from users has been good, with forumites saying they could barely see a dent in the cardboard box. Vax has assured us the damage is minimal (a scratch or a tear on the box, for example) and that the items themselves are brand new and in working order. They’re not refurbished models.

One forumite who purchased a Vax in one of the previous sales said: "I bought a steam cleaner which was fab, and was very pleased with the money I paid for it."

How to access the deal

1. Go to the Vax sale website*
2. Enter the code MSE14 before 5pm on Mon 3 Nov. Delivery's £4.99.

From midday, Thu 30 Oct, the site will be accessible to everyone else until 5pm, Mon 3 Nov with a special code, but you may as well use ours as it’s valid the whole time.

It's worth noting that before the code is applied, Vax products aren't always the cheapest around, so while you'll still be saving a substantial amount, it might not always be 80%.

The sale includes:

  • Vax Air3 compact upright vacuum cleaner for £63, was £230. Next cheapest we've found: £115 at John Lewis SOLD OUT
  • Vax Mach Air Total home cylinder vacuum cleaner  for £80, was £280. Next cheapest we've found: £280 at John Lewis

  • Vax Floormate Trio hard floor cleaner for £80, was £220. Next cheapest we've found: £220 at Amazon

Most come with either a two-year or six-year warranty. Maximum two machines per person.

If your product is faulty, you still have your usual consumer rights, as explained in Martin’s Sale of Goods Act 1979 blog. But you won’t be able to return the item on the basis the box is damaged. However, the distance selling regulations mean you have 14 days to return anything bought online, even if you’ve just changed your mind.

Section 75

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
