Vax logoVax clearance*MSE Blagged code for 30-60% off six vacuum cleaners

Expired

Vax currently has up to 60% off six high-wattage vacuum cleaners (three cylinder and three upright vacuum cleaners). From midday on Fri 5 Sep, the offer will available to the general public, but we've blagged MoneySavers an early heads up to get the discount prices 24 hours before everyone else.

How to access the deal

Go online to the Vax sale* site and enter the password MSE. You'll then have until 5pm, Mon 8 Sep to purchase at the sale prices. Delivery's £4.99.

Why is Vax doing this?

The EU recently announced that from Mon 1 Sep, it is illegal for EU companies to import or manufacture vacuum cleaners above 1600 watts. The ruling was brought in as an energy efficiency measure and means manufacturers have been left with a surplus of the 1600+ watt models.

The sale includes:

Cylinder vacuum cleaners:

  • Vax C88-W1-B for £45, was £80. Next cheapest we found: £60 at Thurgo.
  • Vax C89-PM2-P for £50, was £100. Next cheapest we found: £87.50 Mama Electricals.

Vax logoVax up to 75% off*MSE Blagged code to access sale. 150+ vacuum cleaners & more

Expired

A few times a year Vax releases older models with slightly damaged boxes at up to 75% off on a secret site that you can’t access without a code. We've blagged MoneySavers a code to get access to this site before anyone else so you get first dibs on the best bargains - everyone else gets access on Thursday.

We've had similar incarnations of this deal and feedback from users has been good, with people saying they could barely see a dent in the cardboard box. Vax has assured us the damage is minimal (a scratch or a tear on the box, for example) and that the items themselves are brand new and in working order. They’re not refurbished models.

How to access the deal

1. Go to the Vax sale website*
2. Enter the password MSE14 before 11.59am, Thu 26 Jun. Delivery's £4.99.

From midday, Thu 26 Jun, the site will be accessible to everyone else until 5pm, Mon 30 Jun.

The sale includes:

  • Vax Air3 Total Home upright vacuum cleaner for £100, was £300. Next cheapest we've found: £129 at Debenhams
  • Vax Dual V Advance carpet cleaner for £130, was £350. Next cheapest we've found: £190 at John Lewis
  • Vax Steam Fresh Touch steam mop for £35, was £140. Next cheapest we've found: £80 at Amazon
  • Vax Floormate Trio hard floor cleaner for £80, was £220. Next cheapest we've found: £149 at Amazon

Most come with either a two-year or six-year warranty.

If your product is faulty, you still have your usual consumer rights, as explained in Martin’s Sale of Goods Act 1979 blog. But you won’t be able to return the item on the basis the box is damaged. However the distance selling regulations mean you have 14 days to return anything bought online, even if you’ve just changed your mind.
