What's new on MSE: Find out which meal box kit is best value for money

Meal boxes have become increasingly popular, combining measured ingredients with recipe cards to take the effort out of making food and save you from having to schlep around the supermarket.
Though it's fair to say that meal box kit services are more known for their convenience than their MoneySaving prowess. So can they offer value for money? In our new blog we compare five of the most popular to find out...
As well as analysing the base prices and available discounts, MSE Rob pitted the boxes against each other on aspects including price per portion, nutritional values and, well, taste, to find out which of the kits should sit at the top of the table.

Key MSE News: 22,000 weekend students to repay living loans as normal after government reprieve

-
Two weeks ago, we reported that around 22,000 weekend students were facing demands from the Government to repay their maintenance loans and grants much more quickly than expected. Students had been wrongly told they were eligible for this support, with one describing a "nightmare" situation where she was suddenly being told to repay £8,694.
-
However, the affected students will now be able to repay maintenance loans under their original terms, in a government U-turn. In addition, demands to repay grants in full as soon as possible have been paused until at least September.
-
Our news story covers what this means for the students, what the next steps are, and more.

From our social channels: Spin a Spotify track to support tree-planting efforts for FREE

To celebrate Earth Day (Wednesday 22 April), this week's social post delivers a simple way to support the environment: you can help plant trees for FREE, simply by adding a track to your Spotify playlists.
For every 100 times the track's played, the This Song Plants Trees project will donate enough to the Eden Reforestation Projects for one tree to be planted. You'll need to listen to the full 31 seconds without turning the sound down for your listen to count towards this.
So why not try this easy, quick and free way to help the environment? You don't need a paid Spotify subscription – there's a free version with ads.

And finally, from the MSE Forum: Renters' rights & a landlord's 'unreasonable' demands about books & tools

You may have heard of too many cooks, but how about too many books? This week's MSE Forum thread is from a forumite who was worried that their daughter and her partner may be kicked out by their landlord for having too many ornaments and books, and for storing gardening tools and a lawnmower in... the garage.
However, forumites were quick to reassure them that the landlord likely has no legal grounds to evict.
Some drew the original poster's attention to the Renters' Rights Act, coming into force in England from Friday 1 May. This will see no-fault evictions end, meaning landlords will only be able to evict tenants if they have a valid reason. Having too many books is unlikely to be one of them.
Check out the thread via the link below and follow the House-buying, renting & selling board to discuss anything and everything renting-related (and much more).
