Now TV's sports pass prices have just gone up - but there's a way to beat the hike

Now TV has bumped up the price of its daily and weekly sport passes – but you may still be able to find them at discounted rates.

The streaming service, which is part of Sky, has today increased the cost of its Sky Sports Day Pass from £6.99 to £7.99, and its Week Pass from £10.99 to £12.99. The Month Pass has escaped the price jump and remains at £33.99 a month – but unlike the daily and weekly pass this is a rolling monthly contract.

The sport passes give you access to all 10 Sky Sports channels.

If you bought a daily or weekly sports pass prior to the price increase but have yet to use it, you won't be charged extra when you do.

With Now TV, you pay for Sky content such as entertainment, films and sport to watch live or on demand without having a long-term subscription, as you instead buy a short-term pass or go for a rolling one-month contract.

See our Watch Movies & TV Online and Digital TV Deals guides for more ways to save.

Check if you can beat the rise

You can often pick up discounted Now TV passes on their own or as part of a bundle from other retailers – even if you've already previously bought and used passes.

When we checked today we found the Sky Sports Week Pass for £10 in store at Argos and online at Currys. Argos also had a bundle with a Sky Sports Week Pass and the Now TV box, which you use to access the service, for £14.99.

Now TV itself has introductory offers for new customers only. It classes a new customer as someone with an email address and bank details not registered with it before.

You could also try cancelling your rolling contract via your Now TV account, as some customers have reported immediately being offered a discount to entice them to stay. Alternatively you can try haggling via Now TV's online chat.
