Ryanair online check-in to close for 12 hours on Wednesday
Budget airline Ryanair has warned passengers that several services on its website and app including online check-in won't be working for 12 hours from 5pm on Wednesday evening. If you need to check in for a flight around then, make sure you do it in advance to avoid being stung with a £55 fee.
Ryanair's free check-in window is just two days before you travel, so if you're flying on Wednesday 7 November or Thursday 8 November, make sure you don't get caught out. Ryanair recommends customers check in online and print their boarding passes on Tuesday 6 November if possible.
You WON'T be able to check in online between 5pm on Wednesday 7 November and 5am on Thursday 8 November. And if you don't manage to check in online before your flight, Ryanair has confirmed you WILL have to pay its airport check-in fee of £55.
Ryanair says the system outage is to allow it to upgrade its reservation system. It comes less than a week after Ryanair introduced new baggage restrictions, meaning non-priority customers can now only take one small bag on a flight without paying extra.
See to master the airline's mega-strict rules for cheap flights.
Which services will be unavailable?
Ryanair says you won't be able to do the following between 5pm on Wednesday 7 November and 5am on Thursday 8 November:
Check in for your flight online
Make a new booking
Make a flight change (date/time/route) or name change
Review an existing booking
I'm flying with Ryanair – when can I check in?
Customers who have purchased a seat or have a Flexi Plus ticket can check in for flights 60 days in advance of departure.
If you haven't paid extra though, you won't be able to check in until 48 hours in advance of your departure flight. Online check-in closes two hours before the scheduled flight departure.
