More than three quarters of those who've tried to haggle with 10 big-name providers have managed to agree a better deal, with the AA and Sky the companies most open to negotiation, according to a poll of almost 4,000 MoneySavingExpert users.
Millions of Sky customers hit with inflation-busting line-rental price rises last month have been given a fresh opportunity to haggle a better deal after action by regulator Ofcom.
Around 4.4 million Virgin Media home phone, broadband and TV customers will be hit with inflation-busting price hikes of 5.4% on average from 1 February 2016, the provider has announced.
Mobile phone users may find it easier to change provider in future, as communications regulator Ofcom has today launched a consultation on how to improve switching.
